Do you remember, literally day one of his tenure when we had I think John Buchanan or someone like that in the box and he came out saying Hinkley was too negative?

****ing hell, red flags and all that. Not once did he ever have the self awareness to address it.

Now he’s an authority on when Zac Butters will make up his mind if he stays or goes, and how Horne-Francis will need time as hes missed a lot of pre season training. OMG Why is anyone even talking to this boring person who has achieved sweet FA .Ch10 News needs a rocket.

Seriously, how are the people that were actually fans of this guy ever going to explain to future generations who he was or what he did?
They won't need to because he'll be forgotten by everyone due to a lifetime of failure.

Yeah but it's a record breaking, historical level of failure. Nobody would remember Ea-Nasir if he'd sold decent copper.

In 1900 years perhaps society will rediscover Sack Hinkley volumes 1-13.

Simple, they'll just describe him the way David Koch does, "Port Adelaide Football Club's most successful coach of its AFL era".

I've been re-watching The Office (UK, not that American dross) this week. Hinkley gives off major David Brent vibes, walking around asking everyone if they think he's funny.

Could definitely see this happening when having individual player meetings

The interview is basically:

Hinkley hasn't reflected on his coaching career. I wonder why?
A couple of softball questions about the Hornet and Butters.
Talk about State of Origin and the only thing he remembers is getting burnt by Tony Hall to lose the game.
Talking about premiership favourites and bringing up injuries as an excuse.
Having a go at shirtless Kane.

A lot of not much and a lot of loserville. Happy it is all in the past. He should continue to embarrass himself for the rest of the year.

I didn't listen to any of Daddy's interview but it is being reported in the media this morning that the genius Kenny Hinkley came out with these words of wisdom when asked where Butters would be playing next season, "he's either staying at Port or he's going home".

We will sorely miss such intellectual property.

Hartlett last week, Wines this week, now that Ken is out the building they've stopped showering him in praise and are admitting to how rigid the place was. You have to wonder what some of the players actually thought privately about the absolute sh1tshow of the last few seasons.

Also, Richardson and Koch must be really thankful that there wasn't a mass exodus of professional footballers following Ken out the door like they repeatedly told us would happen when Ken left. Those two really take the members for fools.

It’s going to become more and more obvious just how incompetent a coach Hinkley was when Josh Carr keeps getting all of the basics and bare minimums right.

Along with what sounds like a more careful possession heavy gameplan and now 'putting more control in the hands of players' (ambiguous but something a bunch of players credited for 2004), makes me think that Carr's molding himself after williams

When does the realisation dawn for the Hinkley ball lickers in the fanbase? I know, probably never.

The amount of core misinformation that our ‘die hard members’ believe as accepted lore would top a nationwide league table.

From Koch being responsible for Adelaide Oval, to the pick that nabbed Butters being part of the Wingard trade, to all manner of rubbish about the club being an existential minnow that only Ken Hinkley could revive, etc.

It’s extraordinary when you catalogue it.

man it would be so satisfying if stinkley was basically blackballed from the club and we never let him near us again.
good chance it happens too because you know the silly campaigner is bitter for not giving him 20 years to fail continuously.

Yeah that would be like trying to win a grand final against Brisbane with Primus and Francou out injured and Wilson unable to lift his arms above shoulder height.
We lost the 1994 second semi final by 12 goals, and then fell 6 goals behind in the grand final against the same team. But someone must have forgotten to tell our players that the task was too hard, because wow - what a response. Still my favourite Port flag, with strong competition from 1990 and 2004.
