This year’s National Missing Persons Week campaign will focus on 8 missing Australian women.
The AFP is shining the light on long-term missing women this National Missing Persons Week (NMPW), calling on the Australian public to come forward with new information that could help bring them home. This year from 28 July – 3 August, the campaign Always Searching will focus on the continuing efforts of police to solve missing persons investigations.
Throughout the week, 8 missing women will be featured, providing an opportunity to raise awareness and encourage the community to come forward with any information they may have. Each case will highlight a different long-term missing person who has been selected in consultation with state and territory police.
The recurring message of this year’s campaign is that no matter how tiny the detail, police are committed to following leads and information to help find families’ loved ones.
For further information be sure to follow the AFP’s National Missing Persons Coordination Centre (NMPCC) Facebook, Instagram and X pages.  Don’t forget to like, share, and comment on the posts and use hashtag #NMPW2024.
If y#NMPW2024ny information about a case, we encourage you to contact Crime Stoppers. You can anonymously share information at https://crimestoppers.com.au/ or freecall 1800 333 000.
Remember, no detail is too small or too big, together we can make a difference.
Laura Haworth – missing since January, 2008, last seen in Queanbeyan, NSW.
Anne Marie Jeffery – missing since August, 2020, last seen in Lake Arragan, NSW.
Angie Lee Fuller – missing since January, 2023, last seen in Alice Springs, NT.
Tanya Buckland – missing since August, 2013, last seen in Warwick, Queensland.
Susan Goodwin – missing since July, 2002, last seen in Port Lincolm, SA.
Nancy Grunwaldt – missing since March, 1993, last seen in Scamander, Tasmania.
Julie Garciacelay – missing since July, 1975, last seen in North Melbourne, Victoria.
Chantelle McDougal – missing since July, 2007, last seen in Nannup, WA

I can't see this one ever being solved, unless some one comes forward with direct evidence or if they or their bodies are found. The evidence surrounding their disappearance is too convoluted.

It's hard to believe that Chantelle McDougall's daughter Leela - five when they vanished - would now be aged 22 if still alive today.

Hey Throaty :)

Was it said they left the country under the names we know them as?
I don't know. I have forgotten a lot. But I will ask this guy. I do wanna catch up with him in person and tell him of my idea of where SS is. We have only spoken on the phone. I do hope he is still alive. Remind me if I don't post by Tuesday.

If that’s the case I hope someone has told her mum and dad. They remain devastated.
Ok I I'm not getting far, yet I tried. It's all quite secret. You might have to do searches like use the title followed by spirited out of the country.. left via ship .. ASIO involved.. MI5, MI6 etc. TBH it looks like dangerous territory to me, even now. I will follow & see what you guys turn up. Besides I think I'm close re another case..

Be safe. Appreciate any help.

It sounds like the conspiracy theory mentioned earlier in this thread as that a certain person who once lived in Nannup once put forward about then leaving on a UK Submarine and something about a stolen South African nuclear device in Dubai and some money diverted by Margaret Thatcher into a secret account to pay for it's return spruiked by a Sir Laughs a Lot upon a forum somewhere. IMO it's a bit of notoriety seeking, just like his "cadaver dog" that he wanted to use to find Haley Dodd before anyone had an idea where to look. I'm afraid that you might be wasting your time with him.

Yes my conversation with him is coming back to me.

This one was interesting, so many details. I wonder what the new podcast from the abc will add to this.

Been watching & listening to them as they drop weekly.

It’s hard to believe so many just go missing so suddenly in this day & age, albeit occurring 19 years ago.

Highly recommend watching Expanse on iview.

This dinkum?
Total imagination IMO.
The story was started on another web forum by a user calling themselves Sir Laughs A Lot claiming to be a goat farmer in Nannup who also worked in Forrestry. He made a lot of interesting claims about the disappearance. Later in life he pops up promoting the use of a cadaver dog in the disappearance in Badgingarra of Haley Dodd. He is believed to be retired in the Mandurah area. I went through all this on another web sleuthing forum as some of what he wrote about the Nannup four were disturbing however the conclusion seems to be that he was drunk posting and whatever you read should be therefore be dismissed

Roger. I was pretty stunned to read those comments. Thank you for the background.
