Game Day Preseason thing against Tigers or something

Jayden Hunt 2.0 goes alright.

Left to go cycling during the lightning delay, came home to another lightning delay, nice.

Side note, listened to the SEN commentary and Maher, Cooney and De Stoop were the most painful listen I've nearly ever experienced. Condescending throughout, and spent nearly the entire time cracking gags about how long the first quarter had been going for. Insufferable
I was listening while driving and they spent about 5 minutes just making lame jokes and giggling without any commentary. Utterly shithouse.

I like the idea of listening on radio though. Old school
Any of you fine people know if the match will be broadcast over radio at all?
Yeah miss heading off to the beach with the one dayers going on the radio, or Rex hunt making a standard round 7 game the most exciting thing ever
I don't get why people go to dodgy streaming pirating services when the AFL website gives you coverage of the game no problem at all. Went back to radio last year when Kayo prices shot up.

This makes me glad I stick with ABC Grandstand whenever the Dees game isn't on 7.

I watched it on delay, i skipped lightning delay one. Watched some good play, skipped forward again and saw the game get called off.

So not a home and away match, but two lightning delays all up. I wonder how many of our players have played in these delays. Gawn and a lot of those who don't normally miss surely have played in four counting these two. If you want to count all delays, can throw the Gabba's lights in for five

Not a bad game. Tigers moving the ball slow is gonna ba an issue for them this year if they don’t speed things up a bit.
Can see us beating up on some lower teams. But reckon we’ll get exposed a bit on turnover against the better sides.
Having speed in the middle is a difference maker Windsor and Kozzy out of clearance is great to watch.
CJ was a bit shaky particularly early and he may cause a bit of frustration at times. But can be exciting too.
I liked JVRs game too.
Got to say it was annoying we didn’t get a full game and get a look at Mathews.
Bring on the saints.

With the way we've been going with injuries so far this preseason, an abandoned game probably isn't the end of the world

Also our lightning luck is insane. 4 games since 2021 have been affected by lightning.

There's been 5 Dees games affected by lightning/bad lighting?
The game against West Coast in Perth 2021.
The game against Brisbane in Brsbane in 2023.

If this is No.5, which games are the other two? I'm coming up with nothing.

Things i liked watching

Windsor a lot more involved this week then last
Langford was okay but doesn't seem fully utilised when playing on the wing
Disappointing with Kentfield, more so considering not a whole heap of the game was played and it's well, preseason
JVR leading up at the ball carrier and getting rewards for it, not a heap of wrestling and all clean single grabs
Kolt has a leg on him
Petty seemed a little out of his depth with Lynch
The rest ehh? Some better than others but hard figure off the minutes played

Communication seemed a little off today? A lot of times we would leave the ball for someone else, or not quite work out who has the best play on it in a pack

I liked in the first quarter how we setup behind the ball but try to shift the ball through the middle when we create the turnover, Richmond kind of looked unsure how to move and defend it.

The forward weighted handball is just so good releasing players once opposition is drawn to the ball, breaks the lines better than bombing, less likely to **** up with the low flat hard one (that is still useful). That said there was a play near the boundary where we ****ed a couple up, fully expecting to failed skill execution in the season. But the intent to handball first is a lot more instinctive which is nice, along with options presenting going past

We both seemed gassed in that second quarter

Collingwood in 2024 final round, today i would say counts as two

If you count the AFLW, our very first game was delayed by lightning as well
