The last practice match has generally been the side primed to be picked for the first game. This team is a long way off being that. We have gone down the Geelong route of not taking these games pre season games seriously.

Not sure I’ll go tomorrow now. It’s about 8 players off our best team. Am I right?

It only benefits a couple of players who need to stand up to take the spare couple of spots available for round one.

Individual players aren't really a surprise to me. Potential impact to team cohesion of them all out and not playing together is what surprises me. Nick's had a better higher standard hitout than anyone else. Didn't look like he needed another game to be ready, but it's the team cohesion, particularly with talk of game plan adjustments.

We'll end up getting beaten, and maybe by 3 or 4 goals and listen for the doom and gloom in the media on Monday, bypassing the fact of the quality of players we had missing....

Would’ve liked to have seen Anderson again but happy to see both Swadling and Prindable named.

They must feel they get enough of that at training with the way they have the A team together in match simulation. I don't think it's the same as testing against a team playing a different plan to you. Hopefully it doesn't leave us a bit behind at the beginning of the year.

Half agree, but I think we'll get smacked and I won't enjoy that if it happens. Does indicate that we'll be looking to push up our kids this year more than we previously have.
