How long have we been saying that about the Cats though?
I think Cats are the opposite, they obviously have aura and can offer lifestyle and cotton on jobs for family members.

How many FA have Collingwood missed out on over the years?

Then you look at what the list is, Naicos is really the only decent player under 25.

It could be an awful 10-15 years for them.. and I’m here for it

Unless Keeler has cemented himself as a solid forward option by the mid season draft I think our best bet is finding a big bodied full forward to actually provide a solid forward option that isnt as easily pushed off their line.
I saw somewhere we were linked with Jed Walter. Take it with a massive grain of salt though.

Is the Phillipou contract real?

Ross admin teams never really seem to comment on stories or articles like this.. we have to wait until he goes on a footy classified or something and he’ll just whack 5 things on the head at once.

I doubt it. It has to be wrong, there’s no way he’s getting a million per year for two years.

I think it’s more likely that he’s getting a million for 2 years, $500k a year. And Tom Morris interpreted that as a million for each year.

I know it’s trendy to say St Kilda are big spenders, but we do have a salary cap to consider. Philipou was keen to re-sign because he loves Ross Lyon. You don’t give a guy like that a million dollars a year when he hasn’t done anything yet.

Average wage now is around the 500k mark. Forward pay one of those years and bam, a million dollars! Makes a good story particularly when you don't have to provide a shred of evidence.

I think he is on a million this year. But not for the life of it. Or strategy has been to pay everything forward so you owe bugger all later in the contract so you have cash to splash again

We need to be looking at a key forward. Probably need to look at drafting one for the future this off season as well as signing someone up. It's a glaring area of weakness even if big Max does make it back. Tauru the one that could come on there but at this stage there's no evidence of it.

I would look at someone like Sebit Keuk. He was picked up by Freo but did a knee and never got a game. 199cm Sudanese forward. Moves like an eel and I think he was going at about 3 goals a game before being picked up by Freo. Playing WAFL still. Would be mid 20s now.

Jed Walter should be our #1 target

If King gets back we probably don't need to chase him. It's going to cost a lot of trade capital. Really need to see where we are at round 23. If Keeler or Dodson steps up we don't need a back up option. If King stays injured we probably need to pull the trigger. I'd be chasing Shanahan over Walter. I can't say Walter has shown much at this point.

Just looking through the Restricted Free Agents, Ben King is the obvious one but that seems like a .1% chance. What about Amartey? Pretty hot and cold but has had some good patches.

Walter would be a good get but would cost a lot of picks.

ST KILDA has quietly extended Anthony Caminiti's contract beyond 2026.

Caminiti is now contracted for a fifth season at the Saints, through to the end of 2027.

per. Josh Gabelich

Not sure why we needed to do that.

Should have let him sweat a bit in the hopes he improves.
