Why no Flanders? That's a bad anti-POD.

Trade Reidy to Serong then. Reidy is a waste of time
I had Reidy because I ran out of time and was busy. How do i swap reidy to serong?

That would be a crazy move IMO

Trade NAS to Sinclair before Nas goes down in value around $100k if another bad week and Sinclair jumps up in price
You can always trade NAS back in when he bottoms out but it could be a $200k difference between the 2

Not a chance, for me.

Wasted a trade last year on Horne-Francis. Roughied him back in a week later.

Late in the season when I desperately needed to conserve trades I just wish I'd originally held him.

Injuries and more glaring issues will generally always arise.

NAS will come good.

Impossible for anyone to answer without posting your team

Im in a tricky spot. Ive got too many premos for our bye round so no more Crows, Pirt or North.

Ideally GWS Richmond, Hawks and Essendon.

Having said that 200 points in one round CAN be made up and some.

Like everyone, I also need to trade Gulden. Already have Serong and can't afford Bont.

Thinking:

A: Anderson @ $620K - Gun in a good side. Set and forget. Doesn't miss games. Has some yo-yo scores though and is 'peak price'.

B: Holmes @ 600K - Best mid in a competitive side. 23 years old. Average has gone up a jump every year. 66-80-99-111. Could it rise further? Will Geelong remain competitive or Holmes get more attention?

C: Sicily @ 483K - May seem a bit left field but it's a 'buy low' approach, with his price set to go up whilst the other two will remain at that 600K mark and can be future upgrades. Thinking on Sicily is he is priced at an 89 average after an injury affected season last year, including a 37 when he did his shoulder. Prior to that, his averages were 113, 114 and 99 and looks back to his old self this season after 2 good games/scores (pretty common for him to miss a couple of games through a suspension or niggle)

D: Edit, I suppose Merrett @ 583K is also a good option. Priced at a 108 average but has gone between 112-116 for 6 years straight prior to last year! Super consistent scorer. My only worry in not picking him is Brad Scott put him back and forward last year and he only excels in the middle. Do we have any word on if he will be moved around again? Given they want to sign him up again/want him to stay, will they let him play midfield all season as they should?

What would you do?

I'm doing Sicily. Saving the $124k for future trades helped with the decision making. At worse he's a solid D6 keeper.

Merrett only worried me because I have this gut feel that as the season progressess he'll start to lose the desire with his mind on trade period and start posting some uncharacteristic 60's and 70's.

Yep. I ****ed up. Faded Flanders to Kossie on the eve of Round 1. Mistake - gotta own it and get him in.

These are the two options I'm considering. In two minds about trading Young, but it's likely Fonti will have two or three price rises before Young is on the bubble. Could reassess at that time. Will need to get Murdock, Cook and Marshall next week with a boost. Second option means ultimately burning 5 trades over two weeks instead of 4.

What do people think?

I'll never understand trading rookies in after one week. Wait for the bubble. Might get injured this week, or score 35 and kill their cash gen.
Agree 100% ....just depends on what you want to do the following week, trade wise

I'm finding it hard with Serong to choose after a) an 80 point qtr saves his bacon ....b) all the game trends do not favour him as a consistent good scorer (top 8 mid)

Is Young in your team?

If so, are you turfing him out?
Don't have him, but would likely trade if I did. Made of wet tissue paper (which is why I didn't start him to begin with).

With the way his body is, I don't see him scoring enough over the season to be particularly close to the top-eight mids, and the cash from him would be a slooooow burn. Better off investing in a proper premo or a rook that's going to make you good, fast cash, imo.

Main interest I'd have in him is if he were to get DPP later on, but even then, there would be an element of hesitancy.

I agree with this view. I decided id take the punt knowing that there was a decent chance something like this would happen. No one doubts his scoring potential when played in the midfield, that will always be there, but there were red flags. Im not confident enough in him to come back and return to playing predominantly midfield.

Id much prefer to admit i made a mistake taking someone that injury prone and use a trade when there is a scare. If it was someone without an injury history id maybe wait because of best 18 and everything but to me, Young was always a risk. Now he is even a bigger risk to keep in my opinion. Even if he comes back in 1 or 2 rounds and starts scoring hundreds i think ill be okay with my decision to jump off and source the 'value'/points from someone else who is hopefully less risky.

I wont go as far as calling people stubborn for sticking with him, but i think the % move at this point is probably to punt him. Take the 3 quarters of quality scoring in the mids and the half decent final score of 80 and run. Thats my thinking anyway.

Thanks! 3 answers so far - one for Anderson, one for Holmes and one for Sicily :p

Doesn't make decision making easy.

He might mean Jai rather than Caleb? (noting unspecified would normally mean Caleb)
Yep - of course - my bad :)

JHF1870 can still make the trade - Reidy out, Trac forward, Rozee to mids, Serong in

That was because I took out Watkins though. When I revert back. I can't keep Watkins AND Serong

1. I do nothing and wait
2. Get rid of Watkins for Serong
3. Get rid of Sellwood for Sicily or someone not from Adelaide, Collingwood, WB, Port, or North.
4. Get rid of Reidy for a forward option which I can't find one.

Soooooo you didn't post your current team, you posted it after trades? Hard to give advice then :)

I'm not sure Serong is an absolute 'must have', but I reckon if there's a way, you grab him simply based on good JS.
