Knew they had got outplayed. You just have to look at the stats outside the inside 50 count. Most coaches acknowledge you don't deserve to win when it's skewed that far towards one team.Classy and credit giving presser from Cox. Completely different to a Chris Scott presser.
Fools there calling it a clear mark. Weddle obviously a ghostI’m sure they missed the Logan McDonald “mark” and 50

Wait until it gets windy and then our kicking will come to the fore. The good news is our inaccuracy has been terrible. If we can start kicking straight we will take some beating!
Give them my best whilst your there and tell them I miss themFeel like venturing over to the Eagles board just to say thanks for Tommy Barrass.
What a player![]()

Reeves had 13 hit outs to adv from 21 hit outs and Meek was getting dominated by Grundy, so the duo ruck saved us from a total domination by Grundy tonight. What a fighting win. Tried to throw all our territory dominance in the third and early forth away, but just kept working.
Great effort from the whole team, but Barrass and Gunner get a special mention, they're just so reliable.
Random points of note:
He's still a target for unnecessary heavy treatment. I suspect it's just going to be something he's going to manage for his whole career.
- Sydney refusing to tackle in the F50 while our lads were over the ball is a new one, almost managed to draw a free out of it, so may be something to watch as a tactic.
- IMO Chol is doing everything right but lets the ball hit his hands high and a touch too far behind his eye line. Just needs to land it more in line and he'll clunk them all. He could be kicking 5 match.
- McKenzie looks like he feels like he belongs now. Still got a bit of development in his body yet, but he's strong.
- Very impressed with Butler, he does the small things right.
- Very glad Wiz gets 18 days off, he looked one stretch away from a nasty hammy tear.
- I think the frenetic pace AFL is being played will slow a bit as the season goes on, the players slowed down a heap after quarter time and both teams became more defensive.
- Even though he didn't have a big night, Reeves has to stay. Had Meeky been stuck as a sole ruckman, Grundy may have torn the game apart.
Lewis isn't fast but he is an aerobic animal.Agreed on Lewis. Maybe he didn’t nail everything but competed harder than any other forward on the ground.
Heard no one can get through
When Gunston kicked that goal I yelled at my TV so loud that my daughter started cryingThe goal from Jack to seal the deal is what footy is all about. The TV shook from the roar. Talk about releasing the pressure valve after such a grind. Loved that the entire team stood up when the game needed to be won. People have already mentioned them but I want to give credit to Connor Nash who had 9 tackles. When Connor is competing like that we generally win. Has been like that for years. He is such an important player to our midfield set up.
Also want to mention McKenzie and Connor McDonald who fought hard all game and also tackled hard. I don't think I've seen them attack opposition players as hard before. Sam Butler was great and looks very classy. He gets involved in a big way when the game needs to be won. A big watch for me to see how all these young players progress this season.
I almost forgot but Josh Ward who is becoming a bit of a revelation to me. He is there in the clutch and he seems to have all the tools - good at ground level, clean, quick and a great kick. There is a lot of can do and support he provides to the team to clean up, link and release players to get them involved. I feel that there is a genuine leadership quality about him the way he goes about it. Beginning to look like a very exciting player for the club after a break out season last year.
Good call about the two rucks. What a fighting win. Tried to throw all our territory dominance in the third and early forth away, but just kept working.

Got a few good bites with this in the bay "amazing that Curnow got subbed out at 3/4 time"
Plays off scratch doesn't he?Anyone else a little tired of hearing about Mitch Lewis' golf?
Game changed when Grundy went off in the 3rd and stayed off for almost 15 minutes.Good call about the two rucks.
Grundy was clearly the best ruck on the ground (he is a very good player so no surprise there) but it's a big task for any ruck to go up against the twin towers of Meek and Reeves all night long.
That 5th interchange has opened up the two ruck strategy for the Hawks.
The AFL subreddit is full of whiney nerds. Doesn't help that their most active posters happen to be Essendon cucks. Petrify Gwent controls the narrative with his no life video posts.Man just had a look at Reddit AFL autopsy thread, it's a total Hawthorn hate fest.
Totally incapable of telling the differnence between a legit 50M like Watson got for being decked after a mark, or McCartin going 4 meters over the mark on Gunston. And the BS mark paid to McDonald after not marking in when it was clearly spoiled and then a 50m penalty.
No mention of the missed 50m when ginni didn't get it back on the full, when Grundy didn't stand.
Papley clearly ducked and acted yet they think he deserves a free because he wasn't caught high.
Amarty gifted the goal because he dived a marking contest.
