Those countries might be poorer and less developed but they’re still more democratic than around 80% of the countries in the world according to that link provided. Truth be told it is an insult to those countries to be lumped with the US as the US currently probably belongs more with the likes of countries in Africa and Eurasia/Asia. Guatemala, Colombia and Peru don’t have corruption to the level demonstrated by Trump (probably approaching a trillion in stolen tax payer money) and his complete chilling cold blooded disregard to waging wars that cause countless deaths to distract from incriminating sexual abuse evidence against him and his criminal buddies.

Shame though that Latin American countries generally have to be the punching bag for cheap laughs from the likes of Lemley. Those sort of comments against African/African countries in particular are taboo and frowned upon because they’re deemed too controversial given they’re racially black.

The same for the cheap brainless ‘banana republic’ jibe when those countries which have been labeled that, had the US Army invade and replace the democratically elected leaders and governments with dictators that appeased foreign US ‘fruit companies’.
