I fail to see how Lawrence Mooney is humorous in any way, shape or form.

The 'Australian Comedian Club' is certainly a clique.

I don't mind Mooney as a panellist every now and again especially if he replaces Molloy. Mooney and Molloy together are rubbish. Fitzy can be good value as a panellist as well.

No need for titus or santo anymore.

I agree with getting some older players on there as guests, each club must have 1 or 2 each year that are good value.

That's the problem though. Footy is the secondary action. The primary goal is to recycle every 50+ "comedian" in Australia who happens to be mates with Molloy and the rest of the clowns.

Except of course, some clowns can actually be funny occasionally.

I don't get it. It's always recycled and cliched 'jokes' at ten paces. Did you know Melbourne fans enjoy Grange and cheeseboards? 🙄

The sort of stuff I would have had a mild giggle at on the Footy Show in '94. When I was 12.
Ever think you aren’t the target market anymore? Like people who complain about Bounce but it’s basically the most popular show on Fox

You guys are just a pack of whingers. If you aren’t interested turn the dam show off and go and watch something else. Watching every week and saying these guys aren’t funny is ridiculous.

Mooney is beyond bad. Should have a restraining order on him being anywhere near a tv studio.

Even without him thought this weeks show was very flat

Well, I watch to hear stories from past players, more than happy to fast forward past all the other garbage, but sometimes after a long day the remote is out of reach.

However, my point remains that Titus O'Reilly is as funny as a kick in the nuts.

Don't worry. Apparently there's a new "comedy" that Molloy and Glenn Robins are launching which will be the usual horrendous and unfunny garbage. Could almost guarantee every one of their comedy mates will mysteriously turn up on that as well.

It's almost impossible to believe, but once upon a time - in this country - comedy and television in general was a vehicle for much younger talent. Not the near elderly having an absolute monopoly over it. Mooney is 60, Robbins is 68, Molloy is "only" 59. Good to see young up and comers being given a chance.

90s when those guys were coming up we had a lot of excellent TV comedy shows on FTA. DGen, Doug Anthony AS, Fast Forward etc. Gave them great exposure.

Maybe now many platforms too widespread these days for younger comedians? Wouldn't know myself as limited social media. Haven't been to Comedy Festival for ages.

I'm repeating myself yet again: :smilev1: Yes, the show seems a bit tired and repetitive, but it won't change or go anywhere while it's still the 11th or 12th most-watched show in the country on Wednesdays

The episode on the 25th of March was 8th most-watched show

*damn

If you're going to have a spray, at least check your spelling.

P.S. Bounce sucks.

Who'd be a comedian by profession these days, where every 2nd person is offended by something, and no network and the like are willing to take the gamble?

It isn't just limited to comedy though
In every form of entertainment once you're in it seems you're in forever in this country

Well "excellent" is arguable, but at least they were young as they should be. Like music it's a young person's industry.

Interesting who made up the DGen though. The actual funny ones you never hear from, and the worst ones you can't get rid of.

The show was so boring I switched off after the shameless promotion of Molloy & Robbins new show. Molloy started off with the petrol syphoning joke ... 3rd week in a row, then the plethora of Carlton jokes, then discussion about Port Adelaide appealing the Butters verdict. Molloy missed the real joke there ..... Port Adelaide are so keen on showing "support" for Butters to convince him to stay at Port in 2027, that they are prepared to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees to save a piddling $1500 fine.

Molloy seems to have been suffering from the effects of sniffing the petrol that had been syphoned for a lot longer than the last 3 weeks

Somebody needs to tell Molloy to shut up, stop interrupting and only speak when he has a decent and preferably not recycled joke to make. You can see most of his 'jokes' and one liners coming from space and most are circa 1992.

Yes. Tony Martin, Rob Sitch and Michael Veitch. That's pretty much the best of the D-Gen/Late Show right there.

Normally, The Front Bar's focus is on footy and taking the piss, however, as you have correctly pointed out, they jumped the shark last night with that woeful promo for the new show. Not only was it totally unnecessary but it was completely out of kilter with the normal content they have.

Aded to that, if you have watched any of the CH7 stations over the past month, you would have to be asleep to not see one of their nauseating promos that are running ad-nauseum for it.

I get the need for the cross promo but that was shameless
Should have been incorporated into some kind of skit that remotely had something to do with football
