In a parallel thought process, I often wonder why so many people (and not just the ultra-wealthy, but is very pronounced in them) can only judge themselves by their wealth, even when it has gone far beyond what they, or any of their descendants that they’ll actually meet, can possibly spend.

I think the two are linked. These are people incapable of appreciating the beauty and wonder of the world around them, and also incapable of consideration of the other 8 billion people on the planet (and the billions to come), not to mention all the other life forms that we share the planet with (and rely upon as well as owing a duty of care to).
For us mere mortals, money is what we trade our lives for.
For the ultra rich, money is what they trade other people's lives for.

Can you pardon someone pre-emptively?

Just wait until he's out of office ... and then charge them.
Biden did for Fauci,Hunter and a few others.
Trump will be casting his net on steroids.
Could imagine a pay now get a pardon later set
up.

While a common disgrace, Trump has always been a canny political animal who can sniff the wind and tap into the mood of MAGA

Which makes it all the more weird why hes seemingly betrayed some of his most loyal followers with firstly the handling of the Epstein matter and now the Iran foray.

He has FTD, simple....His mind is custard, there is no way back.

I do, but I remember actual grocery stores. :grinv1: and F-Troop wasn't a rerun.:tongueoutv1:
Greengrocer when I was a kid.
Butcher shop floor covered in sawdust.
Everything in paper bags, including podded peas.
Fountain pen licence.
Richest kid at school got a calculator and we all laughed at him because he was to stupid to calculate using pencil and paper.
Apprenticeship age at 15, 3 months.

I'm sure this will go down well with the public.

The same "highly respected Commission of Fine Arts" that was installed last October when Trump fired everyone previously on the commission: "We are preparing to appoint a new slate of members to the commission that are more aligned with President Trump’s America First Policies.”

He's such a transparently egotistical and thoroughly petty manchild.

Imagine if Albanese said that he was going to build something similar in Canberra as a symbol for his greatness. Everybody would be rightfully asking if he's lost his mind and demand he step down or even for the Governor General to dismiss him.

It's amazing how Trump has made narcissistic insanity the new normal in the US.
