I think what impresses me the most about him is yes he has a great left boot but he's also got some nice tricks at maintaining enough distance between himself and the man in front of him so that he has room to put a step on them if they try to rush forward. So basically he buys himself extra time to use the ball well.

I'm dreaming of a Hayden Young midfielder in 3-4 years but for now I'm more than happy to have a great ball user off the half back. Even his defense doesn't seem so bad for a first year player, helps that he's a good size.

He's also composed like a 100 gamer already. Good signs.

Came in to celebrate Farrow again. Without his precision kicking, a lot of our control of the tempo yesterday, that enables mids and wings to set up defensively, can't happen. Ridley and Reid returning also helped, but Farrow enables us to control the pace and set up an attacking foray. Such an astute draft choice from Rosa.

is he a chance to get the rising star nomination this week?
He'd be ahead right now but if Hannaford kicked another couple he probably gets it

On observation from one of my kids, he is totally relaxed with ball in hand, no tension almost limp, Ridley is similar. Other players like McGrath, on the other hand is totally tense, flexed...bouncing left, right and centre like a cat on a hot tin roof, not much composure, panicked and rushed.

He is an obvious 200 game player. He is so composed with the football and a great kick. Even if he never comes on as a midfielder (obviously that's the hope) he'll be an elite back flanker.

Reid the same IMO.

Particularly enjoyed the part where he was doing it in red and black not red and royal blue.

What a gift to have fall in your lap without really having to give up a lot.

I like the part where Melbourne essentially gave him up for Lindsay and Farrow was clearly the better of the two.

Really good point.

It’s pretty crazy how relaxed and composed he is with ball in hand at this point in his career.

Has time and space whilst looking like he’s cruising in 2nd gear the whole time. This composure then feeds into his balance and kicking….its a beautiful thing.

Looks a player.
