I dont remember us ever having burst like we've got now.

Its so awesome to watch.

That includes play that looks unstoppable. Like the opposition couldn't stop it no matter what they do.. our team does that.. what is this twilight world timeline we are living in?

Speaking of twilight worlds, the team is 8 points clear of fourth (!) without ever having played more than half a game well. 😯

If they ever play a complete game, it will be a slaughter of historic proportions.

There's a reason why both Fagan and Mitchell were at the game and it wasn't Footscray.

Looking forward to this match with the Hawks, they are a similar outfit in a similar position. They are in some ways, a nemesis, being the only team to defeat us in a Grand Final with ole mate Mitchell at the helm. I'm always reminded of that when the fixture comes around. This will tell us a lot about where the club is at if it can get the job done. I fancy the chances being at home, but the Hawks are NOT to be taken lightly. The Dockers need to be at full concentration and no mental lapses please.

I'd like to win at least 1 of the Sydney/Brisbane matches too, obviously at the Gabba is a big ask, but Freo have had a knack of winning away in some upsets under Justin. I feel like the Premier is most likely to come out of this mob of 4 as it currently stands, maybe a dark horse might emerge, but I feel these 4 are the main contenders. Maybe Geelong can mount a move (hopefully not). I do think Freo if they get on enough of a roll can win it this year, especially if they cement a top 2 birth.

Either way, it's an exciting time to be a Dockers fan. Shai has synced in really well with the midfield group and rolling him, Reid and Young through there with Jackson main ruck looks so dynamic and difficult for the opposition to stop, they provide quite a lot of unpredictability whilst Andy and Caleb are like the glue that holds it all together. The fact the midfield options have become so bountiful and versatile is working wonders.

Who knows where the pathway leads, but one thing's for sure....I'm really enjoying walking it this year. Carn the boys!!!

Optimism at an all time high!

Ras, Chappy, Murphy all to play very well tonight. Cementing our over all improvement. Amiss to kick 4.

Jackson to be best on.

Bolton to do Bolton things.

The decade of dominance is upon us!!

There's no point getting upset or nervous about hypotheticals, my enjoyment of footy has increased more than it has in a long time by disassociating from the what ifs and just learning to enjoy the week by week grind.

What will be will be, I have confidence in the team to play the right game to win tonight. And if they don't, it is what it is, but I back them.

This team.... BOY OH BOY!!

our midfield is STACKED!!

Ryan Gosling Clap GIF

Chappy did some amazing things tonight. Tackles, bumps, marks and laser kicks into the corridor. I am loving his season!

Jackson is a top five player in the league. bolts top ten and and Treacy is the most influential forward I have seen for a long time. And Murph... he is still years away from his long term footy body.

What aspect of our team are you most optimistic about?

Can be on or off field. I think we have a bit to celebrate in both areas, which was the original premise of this thread.

Good question

The on field doesn't happen if the off field isn't performing well. It is well governed. Walls is God. JLO is intelligent. And our board have got their ducks lined up.

The methodology behind how we got here and the fact that the club stuck to its guns and never wavered in the face of media pressure.

The club to me looks like everyone is moving as one, and it looks harmonious.

The team building, the coaching, the growth of memberships, the constant pushing from our leaders to get a fair deal has resulted in us being ignored less.

54k on a Thursday ffs. That was unthinkable a few years ago.

The future is now.

The problem solving of or coaching group. It is led by JLo but definitely a team effort to identify weaknesses and correct them over the course of the season (and across seasons). Makes me think we have more gears to go through.

I was about to say this, it's the way it feels like we have set up a successful club, while noting we haven't yet achieved any success.

Nothing is guaranteed in elite sport, but the off field is stable, decisions have been made towards achieving sustained success, we've had many good drafting and trading decisions.
We've literally built towards this in an intentional manner.
Our biggest misstep in my view is not cracking the finals in 2024 or going past the first week last year when we should have to get better finals experience, if we'd done that then I'd be all in on this year.

However I'm genuinely optimistic we are in with a serious shot of a premiership in the next few years, and that's only ever been true once before.

Being 8-1 is incredible but has me most optimistic is that we aren’t even playing that good at the moment.

We’re having short bursts blowing teams away and no one can go with us when we do

We’re finding ways to win when things aren’t going our way and when things finally click we’ll be close to unstoppable

I’d agree with this.

We had games last year where we played more complete football.

In this 8 wins there’d be 10-12 quarters where we’ve played “great” football.

I still think we’re running in third gear. It may be the youth of the group, and it may still be a year or two before we really hit it.

But I’m excited to find out

It's an amazing list build. Patient, methodical; skillful and wrapped around astute and cagey football management of operations. I can't help but feel impressed. HOWEVER....!

I'm not happy to just settle with that and raise a glass. I want more!! Season 2026 is exciting, but can it deliver the mother of all ships?! I don't know, but I'm a little excited, a little anxious and more than cerebrally intrigued with this transformation and I think all fans should be proud of the team's performances and efforts to date, damn Herculean at times, especially this past Thurs and I see no reason not to soak it all in and enjoy the ride, because the next few years does seem to suggest some seriously good times are afoot. But we won't know until we know!

One thing's for sure, if they win a Cup in the next few years, this place and everywhere else in support, will go ballistic. Manic, mental...totally bonkers. It will be fun, and who doesn't like a bit of fun?! :tongueoutv1:

And it will be the best feeling ever  And like everyone else genuine, I will be rooting for the boys all the way.

Let's go, heave hooooooooooo!!!! Wharfie Time. Yeahhhh!
