Is Moore hurt?

Im confuised as to why so many are throwing his name up to be and out.

He's not setting the world on fire but he is easily best 23 if fit. Am I missing something?
He's definitely down on consistency and impact from what we know he can deliver. I think people are hoping that he can be dropped and then respond like Ginnivan did last year.

Personally I think it's a bit premature for that, but it should be on the cards once we've got some others back in the side.

Nope not hurt just out of form since the port game. People in here seem to think if you have 1-2 bad games in a row you should be dropped for the next 5 weeks.

I tend to agree that Dylan wont be dropped but with matches coming up against Crows, Saints & Dogs before the bye, this could be the week something like that happens.

Hill, Huss, Perez and Nairn are all on the outer, waiting.

Honestly, just my opinion, I don't see Huss coming back (because he's just not VFL level) but if they take a safe route it'll be Perez but if there's one debutant I'm 75% Nairn and 25% Hill.

Edit: I didn't mention Finn and I should have. If the club goes a like-for-like on Nashy it'll be Finn not Huss or anyone else.

I agree with that, but in his 7 seasons and 60+ games Finn from memory has not once played the role of an inside mid at AFL Level. This is the role he has been playing in the VFL and getting BOG in virtually Every single VFL game he plays as an inside mid.

Hustwaite has always played as an inside mid at both VFL and AFL Level and all his 10 AFL games have been in that role. Though he has been sub on 1x and sub off 5 times.

He has only played 2x full AFL games since his debut year in 2023. Both last year. 24D vs WC and 19D vs Richmond.

Hustwaite got the same clearances 8 in those 2x full games as Finn got from his 13.

At VFL they both play similar roles as inside mids.

Mitchell clearly doesn't rate either of them at AFL level in that role given Finn has always been put to half forward and Hustwaite getting subbed off or just not picked. Hustwaite doesn't have another role, but Mitchell thinks Finn does, maybe he just wants Finn there for his run and the chance that he can lock down on someone if needed.
Thought huss first game was as a half forward vs Dees; kicked a few goals too

Dno about the two rucks. Became a huge issue when we lost a player to injury and only had 3 bench spots to rotate the runners.

I’d drop one of the Reek combo and ruck Ramsden part of the time (to be replaced by Chol when ready).

Out: Barrass, meek, nash
In: scrimshaw, Nairn, dalton/maginess

Croc, wiz and more to more cba to offset Nash loss.

Yes, no reason why that can't be his second position as a resting mid. He showed he could take a grab in that debut game - kicked two, if memory serves me right.

Why do people keep saying this when it’s not true at all. He’s done 2 pre seasons with hawthorn and however many pre seasons at the Melbourne storm who are very known to do high intensity pre season training. He clearly has the tank for AFL. And he’s been the emergency a few times which would mean the coaches even think he has the tank already for AFL.
I agree and from what I've been seeing, he's getting real close to making a debut. He's got top class bloodlines and against Collingwood, it was the Hill v Hill show.

Big shout out to Burg’s and the fitness and strength team. When we front up to Adelaide next week we might, fingers crossed no moz intended, with only Barrass on the injury list at round 11. That’s some serious body management right there.
Yeah, arguably the best in the business. Can't wait to see Daysy playing for Box Hill next week. All season, we've had the best injury list and may that continue.

You also didn't mention the like for like to replace Barrass and that's Mraz who must be close. My only poblem with that is playing Noah in the same side as Bodie who I would replace with Scrimshaw or Perez for added experience.

Team selection will be critical for this game. With Barrass out, the biggest threat with their tall forwards is Van Rooyen; the rest of their forwards, with Mihocek out., we should be able to handle. It will probably be Battle on Van Rooyen.

Their small forwards (Chandler & Co), combined with the Pickett's , will probably be more of a threat than the tall forwards. Scrimshaw is most likely the best to bring in for this game and maybe Perez for Ryan. Mraz may get a gig next week against Adelaide.

On a positive note, hopefully Gunners plays. I think they will struggle to cover Watson, Ginnivan, McDonald , and Moore, and we should kick a big score.

This is a danger game, particularly at this time of the year with a few soldiers down, but it is a game that we need to bank if we are going to be a top four side. Go Hawks!

Elite effort from our fitness and conditioning team.

Been that way for the past 5 years TBH, best in the league.

You really don't like the guy, do you Maz.
It's not that I don't like him, he just isn't consistent AFL level.
He hasn't improved his game or changed it at all he's doing the same as last year - very good VFL footballer that can't translate to a fast-paced AFL level.
He might play this week or play a couple later but they'll only be cover-cameos.

You can say it sounds cruel but i'm being pragmatic.
