I hadn't caught up on that. I thought Zorko had made some quip about his mum who was sick or something which was why he was crying, and Voss was mocking that. I hadn't heard sick mum story was untrue.
I think sledging blokes on field for their perceived uselessness is fine. Their families? Not fine

This. I have no issue with sledging and mental disintegration - it think it is part of competitive sport, but we have to draw a line at family.

And in a world where we want people, particularity men, to be more open about their feelings I don't think anyone should have a crack at someone for expressing their emotions (by crying). It's borderline manosphere bullshit. Maybe I'm just woke.

I don't remember it, but that Zorko/Petty incident that is being referred to goes back to 2022 when Voss was a 18yo rookie on Essendon's list. Good chance he's about as clued up on it as I am.

I think he’s found a balance with how he expresses his aggression which I think had him doubting himself during that patch, he was also quite ill which set him back.

I have no issue at all with Voss occasionally overstepping the line.

We've focused on character in our drafting for years now, which is great, but you need a little bit of campaigneriness in the team if you want to be ruthless winners.

Between Treacy making their whole 23 hear footsteps, Vossy being so infuriating it takes the oppo off their game and Jye just personifying inevitability, we have unearthed something that feels like a premiership forward line, credit to each of those lads as they have had their challenges and have their workrate, preparation and team first attitude to thank for turning it around.
