EDFL Div 2 discussion 2026

I watched a good game of footy today decided in last 3 mins. With 2 down just after half time for westy we did ok. With bye next week westy should have up to 4 back over next 2 to 3 and slicka not long after that could make for a good back end of season.

That's a fair assessment. Agree with the winning pick, margins are there abouts. Roxy East Sunbury will be a good statement by either club. Start sorting out the top 4
Was an excellent game by East today out at Lakeside Reserve. Huge performance from all the reserve boys that have stepped up with all the injuries. Team looks to be a much better side when Gray plays.

That’s no surprise.. a Div 2 team is much better with a player with 271 afl games under his belt

Bit of an arm wrestle due to the atrocious surface at willowbrook. Coburg will be an even more formidably team when at full strength with at least 5 missing from the win and a string of home games coming up heading towards the pointy end

Ground was in shocking condition, 4 x games on it yesterday lucky no-one got seriously injured from either team

Seen a clip of Hadfield 14s singing the song after a win. The goal umpire is in the song and looks about 12. Surely you can’t goal umpire at that age. This is poor leadership and could potentially create an issue with someone so young doing that voluntarily. Why isn’t an adult parent doing that role?? Hopefully the league issue some kind of notice this isn’t acceptable.

Can you point to the doll and show the court where the Hadfield person touched you.
The league issues boundary umpires each week in the same age group.
Maybe the kid missed the team and they wanted to keep him involved.
Maybe with the 2 14s teams at different grounds the volunteer pool was a bit thin this week.
Field umpire makes the call most of the time, kid is mostly there to record the score.
Hadfield leadership is digging deep, week in week out, like most smaller clubs and making a real go of it.

Yeah it’s great to keep them involved 💯 but that voluntary role should be a parent or at least someone 16 and above. The issue will be if they gave an incorrect decision it would most likely spill into trouble and others get blamed. I just can’t see how parents don’t volunteer as you have say 20 kids so that’s 20 maybe more parents.
This league and clubs can’t afford trouble and when it occurs we wonder why..

Volunteer pool is parents so how can you say it’s thin..Yes Haddy seem to be improving I totally agree and respect the change but it takes one mistake and it’s chaos again and unwanted publicity. You see my point!!

What a sad life you must live. Haddy had a massive crowd of kids and families on Saturday, won their fourth game in a row (first time in over a decade), sit a game clear in 3rd and you want to point out the age of the kid who may have goal umpired in an under 14s game based of a video you watched on their Facebook page 🤣🤣🤣

Get your hand off it Turbo.

All I’m saying Leo is all the good work you say the club is doing can be put back years by one mistake. It’s happened before and if not careful will happen again. Who puts a young kid in an offical role. To be honest I don’t think they are allowed to be officials at that age..

Not like turbo to have a go at Haddy. We know which clubs he hates 🤣

The EDFL does it every week with field umpires

Most start at Boundary road in Coburg North and then head up the Hume.

Addam Maric played thirds on the weekend and kicked a lazy 11. Heard he is slowly building up and organising the side lines before he pulls the boots on in the seniors.
