Hey has anyone bought GF tickets for the NRL before ? Ive heard they aren't too hard to get hold of, does anyone know when they normally go on sale and whether you have to be a member etc ?
I seems to me that when teams trade future picks to get back into the current draft they most often have to pay overs and the deals seem to favour the team with current pick.
I'm basing that on the future pick being worth the same as that team current pick which of course is rarely the case but...
Seems like it this trade period, teams more prepared to go after mature players and prepared to give up picks to do so.
WC didn't put up a fight to get Kelly despite him being uncontracted.
Saints and Blues who have been hardline draft/play the kids for quite a while are going after players...
Ok, so after a couple of losses and it looking like the Hawks season is over, I've been in a bit of conversation with both fellow Hawkers and opposition fans, the majority of whom seems to think the Hawks are firstly In a terrible position due to being 12th and having one of the oldest lists...
So I just need the order not the actual average ages, if anyone has this. I can find a few in random articles but need a whole series. Going back to whatever i can get but no need beyond 15 years.
cheers
We are talking about a game now based more on the ability to run more than any other skill or ability and yet if you lose a player to injury there is no recourse.
It's utterly ridiculous that games and therefore premierships can be decided on how lucky you are with injuries over how good you...
We've lost some all time great players over recent times no doubt but we've also brought in some very good talent.
But is our issue more about the talent we we've lost off field than on?
This year we are now 0-4 against teams coached by ex Hawks assistants with a percentage of 75, while we sit...
Like in cricket where a good length is now never bowled and considered basically a half volley.
Has footy gone too far in this teamwork/assist/percentage play idea?
I'm seeing players free 40 out chipping to the pockets, big kicks handballing off or chipping to the square, players who can snap...
Now I currently have no religious affiliation so have the advantage of being an unrestricted free agent.
So while I decide if and with who I want to sign, I'd like to get as much information as possible.
Now, so far, Islam seems to offer the best post life benefits although their entry...
Ok, so I've been visited by quite a few salesman of the Christian denomination over the last few years, and while i tend to not give them too much of my time I do enjoy asking some questions and one theme seems to constantly come up.
That theme is that if you take up full coverage, eg give...
Today's game was gf like due to the Tigers being a genuine premiership chance.
We had a huge get together with a BBQ and a projector and the timing was perfect.
Didn't have to start drinking at 11am and got to catch up and eat and then kick back and watch the game.
Seems to me that the general concenus is that defence wins flags and offence is for show.
But without doing any sort of actual analysis my opinion is the opposite and that opinion is based on a Denis Rodman quote more than anything.
So what is the truth ?
If love to se some a actual stats...
Ok so, there's been a lot of hoohah over the O'meara trade and a lot of talk of how its the worst trade ever etc.
Now not wanting to rehash that argument, but the other side of the argument which has come straight from Hawthorn is that early 2nd rounders or more specifically picks from 16 - 50...
Well I didn't think it would come to this but after a 80 point thrashing at the hands of the struggling Suns and still winless and not having a 1st round pick should we get in early and go cap in hand to the AFL and ask for a 1st round PP ?
As a gesture and in remembrance of the events of the past few days, i think we should retire pick 88 to the Hawks Museum. So as we can all go and see it and pay our respects.
On draft night when we are asked to take what will be our final pick at 88, we should pass.......
and then take the...
Ok my always is from 08 to now
But games close at half time or close to.
08, 09, 11,12 and 16
The underdog had got up.
Now there's 13 but it wasn't really close for long if at all.
Is this a mental thing ?
If you're expected to win the pressure builds ?
ok so I've been looking at my GF day options and have been considering hosting a BBQ as ive been occupied the last 4 years.
Anyway having asked around, to my dismay, 3 and now possibly 4, couples/families that I would normally expect to come to A GF do, are going away.
Now we are talking...
FA was forced on the AFL and clubs by the players, it wasn't an equalisation measure and it's never going away, so whether it help or hurts is a moot point.
There's 3 things I would look at to help.
1. Double up the draft. So last place gets 1,2 then the next team gets 3,4 then 5,6 etc and the...
Seems to be This misconception that anywhere where something is Populari s heartland but it's not.
A heartland is the centre of something and with footy thats Melbourne.
So yeah,
Now I don't have stats but this rule always stands up.
So many games where teams have got close to 100 and lost.
The famous Hawkins game, Geelong hit 100 first only for the Hawks to get 15 points up and still
Lose.
Yet this year There's been 2 losses
From getting to 100 first.
I have never bought the clutch player theory.
The idea that certain players can decide to win a game with just seconds to go at will.
However I have seen Beast Mode, where with the game on the line and a fair amount of time left, certain players go to another level.
Burgoyne is the absolute...
who would win ?
A team made up the 11 best players plus the worst 11 players or a team of solid mid range players ?
Now be because the worst players is subjective well make it the last 11 players selected in the rookie draft last year.
And because solid mid range player is also subjective...
ok my Sister who I hardly know, is being held without charge undefinately in Australia and faces immediate deportation again without charge!!
How is this allowed in a western Country in 2015 ???
Ok now she has had drug issues most of her life well since she was 13 on and off which is when she...
what is the answer ?
Over the years there has been many a life taken in the name of religion and it doesnt seem like the end is in sight.
9/11 saw 1000s die in the name of religion and recently we've seen the cafe incident here in Australia and then terror in France and the massacre in the US...
With the draft on tonight I was talking with some co-workers about the massive role genetics is going to play in everyones lives in the near future with next-generation linear gene sequencing about to explode onto the market.
As it stand, gene sequencing is already very available and affordable...
If you had a time machine (possibly a Delorean even) and you could go back in time and convince your list manager you were from the future, what sort of a team could you put togehter.
There are some rules however ( we dont want to destroy the space time continuum)
1. there is no salary cap as...
