Sad news at the assign of our special little magpie, Kyron McGuire.
The young fellow passed away from a rare brain cancer.
His sheer joy and delight at our games was a treasured memory.
The Club were wonderful to him and his family in their difficult time.
He passes but his infectious smile...
And it’s back our boards very own best player.
Simply vote best with 5 then next 4
Then 3,2,1.
Tonight surely it’s who is second best player after the big boy put every dog to the sword.
An easy 3 Brownlow votes.
But it’s up to you.
I will tabulate later days.
Enjoy.
Folks it’s that time again for our Board’s crazy goal kicking competitio.
the Rules are quite simple.
each week select 1 player to kick at least 1 goal during our team’s match
if your selection is accurate you move to the next week and play on, each week you need to select a goal kicker...
The decade of the tens has come and all but gone.
what is the best lists you can name in this decade.
eg best team of the decade
best ten players of the decade
best ten injuries of the decade;)
whatever you want.
humour, anything go for it.
Folks it’s that time again.
Numerous jumpers available.
Who will get what?
Obviously, the newest draftee will wear 35.
Quaynor will need something new, 3?
Cameron will require something but what?
will Mihocek move down in numbers?
over to you....
And it’s that time of the year for lovers of horse racing.
Views, thinking, tips, whatever all welcome.
Opening on a lovely spring day for Caulfield Guineas here in Melbourne.
Mods may wish to move this to the Nest.
Leave to their discretion.
It might be the Grundy show with Pendlebury the wonderful support act.
Time to go 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
11 scoring shots was 11 points to the good.
Now over to you.
5,4,3,2,1 for the best start with 5.
Who will take the 5
The captain
The Jamie
The good Adz
The marauding Maynard
The best steak knives since they were invented?
Or the mark of the year real deal, howe does he do it.
Or an unsung hero that you wish.
Over to you.....
You know the drill.
Please no gratuitous commentary.
Plenty of threads to eat your liver.
5 for a best for us.
4 next and so on till 1.
Cheers.
The sun will rise tomorrow, so that’s something.
Well that was disappointing.
Not exactly easy to find five players supportive of votes.
But that’s the deal, in good times and bad times the five players judged best for us get the votes from 5 to 1.
Over to you.
Fascinated about which VFL/AFL players are twins. (Triplets allowed in this list.)
Not just twins who both played at the highest level, but even just a twin who played at the highest level.
Brad Scott and Chris Scott are stand out obvious twins.
Max King and Ben King are on lists now.
But...
Who are our top ten players?
Who do rate best?
Whatever criteria you like.
But only list ten.
Is it a simple to do or not?
How do you include ageing players, or you don’t.
How do you include injured players or you don’t?
And after going down by four points, perhaps once your blood pressure has gone down it’s time to Vote.
5 for the best Magpie
then 4, 3, 2, 1
This is a VOTING THREAD not a melting thread.
Plenty of other threads to do your must.
Will any one possibly challenge Pendlebury for best Magpie ...
Folks, so much discussion all over the threads about this player and that players salary.
What they should get, pay cuts, fitting in....
This thread can be salary cap based
What is our actual salary cap?
what is the average salary per player league wise; what is our clubs salary cap average...
The old enemy defeated.
Beating Carlton is always satisfactory.
We move to within 1 win of them in the all times games between them.
But now it’s voting time.
Who gets your 5 votes?
Then 4,
Then 3 and so till 1.
No postals, no absentees just voting.
Voting is not compulsory.
Over to you.
Folks you know the discipline.
5 votes for your best on ground,
4 next best with 3, 2, 1 following that.
The votes will be tallied during the week some time. Once tallied any extra votes given thereafter will miss the official tally.
Over to you.
And this is now all yours to vote.
5 for the best
4 for the next
And so on until you get to 1 vote.
Will you agree with the Anzac Medal winner being Scott Pendlebury?
Go Magpies
You know the drill.
Best gets a, late King Kong Bundy 5 count
Then next best 4 and so on till you reach 1.
Then there’s no more.
Over to you.
Tabulation most likely after Easter so go to it.
Folks you know the drill.
Best Magpie on ground gets 5, next best 4 and so through 3, 2, 1.
Note: I’ll tally up during the week and hence add to the main scoreboard.
If anyone votes say only 5 and 4 those votes will count, obviously no other votes.
If it’s clear that the best is marked 1...
~ Didaka Medal Winner 2019 and full votes ~
1. Brodie Grundy
2. Scott Pendlebury
3. Jack Crisp
Summation from Manicmagpie:
Grundy ends with yet another best on ground - an amazing 7th time this season. He polled in a ridiculous 16 of the 24 games to totally dominate throughout. He was...
Folks you know the drill.
Best gets 5, then 4 and so on.
Top 5 only.
NB: traditionally the Didaka is for voting only, not commentating on others votes.
Well not too much.
Over to you all.
Be easier this week :)
Oh we won!
