Anybody know of some prospects from either WA, VIC or SA that will be players to be drafted in 09.

Ill start off by saying the top 3 is most likely almost secure. Scully, Lucas and Butcher seem well ahead of the field. Who else is there?

Throw some names up from the WAFL colts, TAC or SANFL colts

What I seen and Heard - So Far I would have Butcher as then Number 1 Pick for Next Years Draft

I saw a bit of vision of Lucas from the U/16 Carnival last year and he was super impressive. Backed it up well this year. Scully and Butcher look very good at this early stage.

As for others, Kieran King from WA looked good from what I saw of him in U/16. I'm a huge wrap for Jake Melksham, but haven't seen/heard much of him this year.

other players i have already said that Scully, Butcher and Lucas are our or my top 3 for 09 but who else from WAFL, TAC or SANFL.

Just mention names and let others talk about them.

K.King will get drafted this year i feel

Under The Old Rule - Would butcher be draftable this year?

Mitch Marsh (South Freo/WA) - if he chooses AFL.

Brad Sheppard (East Freo/WA) and Mitch Duncan (East Perth/WA) were both fairly solid in WA's backline in this year's championships (played 4 games each).

Anthony Morabito (Peel/WA) - played off HB with some stints in the middle and up forward in the VM and only got it around 5 times, but moved really well (has some pace to burn) and at 192cm, 93kg already a very good height/weight and can play multiple positions/roles. Should be an early first round candidate next year.

Allen Christensen (Vic Country) - liked his game against WA, playing through the middle and of a HFF. Someone on EFH mentioned that a couple of recruiters feel he'll be in the top 5 next year.

Luke Tapscott (South Aus) kicked 9 goals in 2 games of this year's championships as a small forward.

Not from WA/Vic/SA, but Jesse Crichton, Ryan Harwood (Tasmania) and Jeremy Kirkwood (NSW/ACT) - the man famous for his job on Rich - all had good championships and will probably feature somewhere.

A.Morabito is called Goodesy because he is simialr to him. could be a good player.AIS

B.Sheppard shut down J.Watts which must warrant something next year. Fremantle are extremely keen i here.

M.Duncan also has shined in East Perth colts he averaged 25 posses in 4 games.

M.Marsh should play cricket

What picks are these boys expected to go

Hopefully he chooses footy. GUN! :thumbsu:

Didnt show in the 18's comp besides the Tas game which shows they didnt have a full back and also the delivery was exceptional.

Didnt get a touch against VIC M and he doesnt follow his man at all.

What makes you say he is a gun IMO i dont think you know what your talking about much.

Change my mind;)

Steven May. Already played u18's for Northern Territory this year and will soon be playing u16's in a few weeks time. Is about 193cm, has one of the best left foots i've ever seen and can run like the wind.

LMFAO... You can't be serious ?

Possibly the most over-rated footballer to ever play the game, even in front of cale morton.

The 'Marsh' Factor is relative to the "Natanui" Factor in which whenever/wherever, no matter how many times or what they do with it everyone takes notice.

Never the less Marsh gets no footy and simply has size as an advantage not much skill, very little athletic ability except for the fact that he is 6 inches taller than everyone else his age.

Kicking 4 against a 'weak' Tasmanian side with arguebly the best delivery in junior football going around just isn't enough for people to start jumping on the bandwagon. Oh wait it's Marsh we are talking about

TOP 10 '09 for sure :thumbsu:

I hardly think that Marsh (190cm and 84kgs) has a size advantage over opposition players. If anything he is undersized for a full forward. I have watched him in South Frem junior teams and I think he can play, granted I think at the moment he is one dimensional and had a poor carnival.

He also had a limited pre-season due to his cricket commitments.

Would love to see him play seniors next year (along with Dylan Bairstow). Baristow and Marsh CHF and FF for the Southeners for the next decade:thumbsu:

he wont sit around playing WAFL earning 10 000 a year. He will either being playing AFL earning 300 000 a year or being playing cricket for Asutralia earning a million dollars 1 year

fitzpatrick from vic metro 200cm already and still growing very mobile from the western jets in the tac certainly a gold coast target. can play ruck or kp forward. suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome but is managing it quite well a the moment, impressed me in limited game time against WA. peoples thoughts?

Again, I can only go by what I saw, and he looked impressive enough. How about we let the kid develop for another 12 months, considering that he is bottom aged, a KPP, and we'll talk again in 12 months time.
