Re: 11. Damien Peverill

his disposal by foot is bad, to say the least. whilst he will fall behind too much in the speed stakes. i wouldn't call him an offensive "weapon". more of an honest contributor

Re: 11. Damien Peverill

though he does have his critics, he can really pull through for us in big games.
however, i still think he will struggle to maintain a spot in our best 22 especially as the midfield will be hottly contested this season

I think he (JJ) can be a pretty effective impact player
TBH if he's not fit he's worth less than nothing, a lot of the time he's been out there half-fit
But fit he can still run through blokes like they're not there & there might still be half a spot there for him, to provide a bit of muscle. Not every week, but sometimes

Re: 11. Damien Peverill

I saw Pev out and about last night in the CBD without his mask on, the kids were quivering and screaming, people were moving out of the way on the pavement, he is one scary man without his mask!

Where's Pev?

Nice win today, the Bombers looked the goods with that running style of play....

But - where is Peverill?

Is he going to fit into that side and that speedy style of play??

Took the day off. Called in sick.

Re: Where's Pev?

Hopefully we continue to ask where Pev is. Dont want him anywhere near the Essendon side.

Re: Where's Pev?

Can only afford two of Johnson, Watson and Peverill in team at anyone time.

Obviously the selection committee rated Watson and Johnson's pre-seasons as superior.

I don't really understand your logic in putting Watson in with that group. They are different types of players. I would argue that we could quite easily fit another Watson type player into the team.

Neither Pev or JJ is in our best 22. with Winderlich and Lovett to return JJ will struggle to hold his spot. Both Pev and JJ will play games this year but they are there as depth players.

That player would be Hislop one would hope.

With Lovett and Winders still to come into the side we will hopefully be asking this all season.

Re: Where's Pev?

say what you want but i think we are gonna need Pev in a key tagging role next week against the cats! he's better at it...

Re: Where's Pev?

What is with you guys and your continual slander of the great JJ. Yeah he has slowed in recent times and the game continues to get quicker but I thought he did a good job yesterday. As for Pev he always gives it all and to be honest I'm probably more critical of his decision making and execution then his lack of pace. Same goes for Watson.

No thanks. I think we have to be honest about Geelong..

Are we likely to win with Pev- nope, maybe lose by less but we wouldn't win anyway.

Development of youngsters>>>>>>>playing Peverill

I would rather lose by 100 and have our youngsters learn from it, rather than lose by 50 with Peverill and our youngsters would learn less.

Re: 11. Damien Peverill

Send him back to bendigo, fumbled it way to often, nearly cost us the game when the ball went straight through his legs to tarrent who put them within a goal. No doubt he tries his hardest but it's obvious the game has past him.

Re: 11. Damien Peverill

He and JJ should play 1 game together in Melbourne to say goodbye. They deserve it - after all they have carried our midfield for th better part of this decade.

He deserves a spot in the team well ahead of Ricky (nowhere to be seen) Passenger Dyson and Jason (butter would melt in my mouth) Laycock.

dont want to see them playing whilst we are a chance for finals

Re: 11. Damien Peverill

Pev is a legend is my opinion. ;)

I just love the way he goes about his business. I'm still hoping there a future for him at our club, maybe not as a player but something.

His a freaking Sex-God as well.
