20+ would be a decent return.
30+ would be outstanding.
40+ is an unrealistic expectation (but I'd love it to happen).

What are good expectations. I think hell get 40-60 goals. But then again he gets 50 in the SANFL. add to that better deleviry and he gets 80-90.

look at last years dream team vs Victoria game.

Fevola cant do anything against Adelaide's Defence. Add a decent midfield and he gets 7 goals.

so Tex got 50 goals in about 18 games in the SANFL. so add decent delivery that becomes 110 in 22 games. Add a good defender against him. Maybe 70-80

IMO he will get 20-30 and that will be fine for his first year.

I would be happy with 20-30, but I am thinking he'll get around 40. He just leads a the right time and into the right spots. Plus a few 70m bombs wont go astray!

My mum was telling me that she was listening to 891 (ABC) today and the Broken Hill ABC radio spoke to Walker..yesterday? (whenever the squad was announced) and they asked him when he found out that he was in the squad and he said Craigy rang him that morning and woke him up and Craig asked him what he was doing and Walker said he was still in bed (apparently one of his favourite pass-times is sleeping in :p) and Craig said, well, you won't win premierships in bed, will you???
Our coach is a GENIUS! haha.

I got to tell ya guys, I read your team board more then any other club. (It's easily got the best posters. Your training reports are amazing.)

...But the big draw card, my favourite player in the AFL. Taylor Walker! I love the videos you guys have put up of his great SANFL performances and I love following his story.

I truely hope that he delivers everything that you guys are after, including the 200 goal seasons.. :)

Thats really nice of you mate, we appriciate it.
Awesome to hear that your favourite player is Walker too, although you go for Collingwood.
200 goals would be awesome ;)

My mate & I were shitting ourselves when he came off especially that he had to be helped off thank god he's ok.

Cant wait until he plays a full game :thumbsu:

He played reasonabley well considering the delivery into the forward line was average and had 3 shots on goal before being injured. Would have been great if he could have played the entire game, anyone know how bad his injury is?

It was a heavy knock. Cleared of any ligament damage. Not sure if he will play in the first NAB Challenge match. They subbed him off as a precaution.

I saw enough last night to see that Walker will succeed at AFL level.

I wont say he will be the superstar that we are all hoping for, but saw enough to see that definitely will be a first 22 player in the future.

Agreed. At this stage, injury permitting, it can be taken as a given that he will be at least a 30-goal a year forward, someone who will make the side as long as his body permits it. The question is then, is that all he achieves, or does he do more?

I think he's at that point now for the next 2 years. He looks very comfortable in the forward lines even on Scarlett. The free kick he won for his goal was really good to see. He held his ground and forced Scarlett to infringe him. He is a smart forward and will be a great asset as our lead-up FP player this year. If he can keep out of trouble with his body he should play most of the season and kick 20-30 you'd have to say.
