There's still about 6 weeks before the season starts so hopefully we seem back in the VFL by round 12-13 and back in the seniors not long after that.

Man, I feel for Narn's. Hope he gets this sorted out and no matter what happens in his footy career for us his back holds up in the rest of his life. It's a bloody long time for someone with his injuries ( the rest of his life ).

nice sentiment, but...
played 217 over a 14 yr career
kicked the last goal, on the siren I think in the 96GF, his last game

bad news for Nathan, only played 11 H&A last yr so maybe he can bounce back

Spot on - and his first 3 kicks in VFL/AFL were goals too, if I recall.

Shame for Grima but probably depth this year anyway.

We should be able to cover his absence ok, been doing it most of his career anyway.

Well he's training the house down now with the Cats.

He was in a moon boot just before Christmas.

I haven't heard anything about him since, but I don't think too many people have been filing insurance claims due to Delaney training their dwelling to the ground.

F***ing lol at Narni being depth only in 2015.

Uninjured would have been in the starting 18.

Won't be surprised if he gets past his current set back and is recontracted for next year.

Serisouly can someone explain to me how a player go from being entrenched in the side in our best season in a decade to being depth the following year based on others training.

It is the rejection of reality.

Horrible luck for Narni.

The one "upside" is that it forces us to play Tippett or Tarrant now. Hopefully one of them siezes the chance to play on the Hawkins, Tippet and Daniher types who troubles us in the finals. If they don't Grima will be a more than handy fallback in the final third of the season.

I'm not knocking Grima's capabilities, it's just that to me our tall backs have a sameness about them size wise.

Such horrible luck.

Could we start with the 3 T's as the tall backs in round 1, Thompson, Tippett, Tarrant?
With Hansen likely to be facing a delayed start I can definitely see that happening for round 1 as well as as Firrito. Walker - Tippett, Jenkins - Tarrant, Betts - Thompson, 3rd/medium tall - Firrito.

Bloody shame for him and the team. But not as devastating for the team as for him.

He isn't depth, because he is clearly best 22 when fit. But Narni missing games through injury is hardly an unprecedented scenario, so we do have depth and solid backup in his position. Would have been negligent not to, given his history. Tippett had shown he is handy and they are getting Tarrant ready for defence, so really hope the newly-recruited young key defenders will not be chosen or needed.

With this injury could Nahas get a temporary promotion?

To play KPB?

radical thinking.
It doesn't necessarily need to be a like for like swap. Of all the rookies Nahas is the most likely to be promoted isn't he? It could be a massive opportunity for him, especially if he can find the same form as last year during the NAB Challenge and put himself right in the mix for round 1.

I was taking the piss.

I do see us promoting anyone not completely required at the moment.
