Really given some spark to our backline since he went back there.

Would probably be top 3 in the Syd. Keep going Shaun.

Agree.
Unfortunately he’s more often than not forced to stop and prop or go sideways because we have no overlap run or players hitting up at the footy.

I loved seeing him rip into the umpire when that bs free was given against him. At times he’s played within himself and been very conservative, but we’re seeing the benefit of real confidence in his ability to run, break tackles and deliver the footy. He’s playing with passion and wants the footy, which has always been the side of his game that has held him back.

Still, he needs spells on the ball. I just don’t know how our coaches don’t see it- he’s quick, very strong, good in traffic, defensively accountable, and finally has the confidence to be played wherever we need him. Even if he only attended 2-3 bounces a quarter it would give us the fresh look we desperately need, and help Anderson (and occasionally Thomas) try to offset the defensive ineptitude of Cunners, Higgo and JZ. He did it in his junior career, he did it a couple of JLTs ago and looked good before being shoved out to a wing come the season proper.

Agreed.

NMFC logic though: he's fast, so isn't allowed to be used in the midfield contests. Unwritten rule.

Playing the best footy of his career, undoubtedly, hasn't taken the foot of the gas yet.

He takes the game on consistently and he gets rewarded for it. His kicking is composed, and he stays accountable for his man. It is a complete game of football from Ats.

Should be miles ahead for BnF with only Cunnington a close second.
Also should be considered for an All Australian.

Should never have moved off him.

The coach is either tanking or on the Geelong payroll.
Gary Ablett worked extremely hard to get the KT match up. Never seen anything like it before. Gary wanted nothing of Atley or JMac and would run away from them both until he got his wanted Turner match up.

Yeah, and who would want Atley higher up the ground where he could cause greater offensive damage?

Just goes to highlight the genius coaching our side. Ablett would have struggled to get a single kick on a close checking Atley.
