From my recollection, that was always considered the strongest draft of all time until the 2001 draft came along and showed everyone who's boss.

Jeff White was an amazing ruckman, the AFL changed the rules in the centre square partly due to his dominance. Pity injuries hampered his career

Smith, Brown and Jones looked like they were going to be the bomb for us, but then Smith did his knee so badly (at 20yo) that he didn't play for a year and half and we weren't willing to risk matching Hawthorn's offer for him, Tony Brown got Tim Watson'ed and then Aussie retired at about 28yo.
