It seems a bit counter-intuitive in theory but Kosi might be the type that's better suited being a depth player in a really good team as opposed to a rebuilding one. Someone experienced who can come in and play a standard role when injuries hit, versus now when we want to pump so many games into the kids, even if they might not be 'ready' as such.
Hawthorn?

25 year old with less than 70 games

Richmond should just offer him to any club and pay half his salary

Dont need any picks the list spot alone would be worth it

Why the hell did we even take him
Because we had just two established KPP’s on our list at that point, Lynch & Balta. And we had just traded out Soldo.

And how many established KPP do we have on the list now ?
Whats changed ?

He was useless last year
He will be useless this year
He will be useless next year

He cant get a game over a 18 year old kid

What has changed is Miller has come on as a kpd, Lynch back from lti, we have subsequently recruited Fawcett, Lefau, Gray, Blight, Trainor, Armstrong, Faull, Sims who are all showing promise. Apart from those ten relevant things you are spot on, nothing has changed. 😁

Dud Round 1 he was not even in consideration
that explains everything and there is a very good reason for it.

He is terrible and always been terrible
shocking trade

Is not playing a 25 year old Kosi because they want to play 18 year olds instead a form of discrimination?

Now Gun, tell the truth here. Were you one who was arguing we should have recruited Jacob Van Ruin over Tom Brown?

If so, I rest my case. 😉

I like Van Rooyen

But Kosi is no Van Rooyen who will play his 46th game as a 21 year old compared to a 25 year old Kosi stuck on 62
But i am loving Brown

Your point ?

Van Ruin is barely doing better than Koschitzke at the same age, but you are spending pick 17 on him, missing out on Brown, and then quibbling over pick 45 for a mature bodied Koschitzke when we barely had an established key position player in our team.

Richmond will be a bit disappointed Koschitzke hasn’t done better but how many exposed KPP’s get traded for a 3rd round pick and turn out any good. It was a move born from necessity and desperation.

I honestly dont care about pick 45

Its the fact that he was hopeless at the hawks and even worse at Richmond
But ill let you die on the hill defending KOSI

And remind you when Van Rooyen plays his 200 game

Nobody is dying on the hill of a player who plays in an area of desperate need for whom the club traded pick 45. It is likely he was either the best or only player available that fitted the club’s immediate requirements. To show you just how desperate our need actually was…he played 14 AFL games for us in 2024, often when there was no other viable option available for selection. The cost is so minimal I am shocked you are so disturbed about it. His recruitment will have no real impact either way on the most important issue, which is when we win our next flag. For now he is doing well in his role in our VFL team and is depth in that role if needed in the AFL team.

He was played 14 games to play as a foward - He failed , He has always failed as a foward
He was a shocking signing that cost a nothing pick but still a lost opportunity to get a younfer kid and get games into them

We were in a similar position when we had no talls to play apart from Jack and played smalls
We had other options like draft another player to fill that role in the mid season drafts

But im ok with you on the Kosi hill ;)

Ok, I can see your strategy now. You are keeping pick 46, drafting the next available key forward and getting games into him, while also playing him one out with all the smalls.

Patrick Snell is a very strange hill for you to die on. 😂

LOL

You cant use that line , You already died on that hill
Game Over

Seemed to play alright tonight. Suspect he gets an opportunity at some stage in the back half this year. I remember reading he was all Australian CHB in his draft year (I think?)

VFL seems to be his level. He's a pretty decent FB for our seconds but does nothing at all to push for seniors. Blight is starting to head the same way unfortunately, he used to dominate VFL level.

Maybe it's because I've a soft spot for him, but I'd like to see him get a run ahead of calamity Miller next week.
