I think it's pretty obvious what was said without the media spelling it out. It doesn't matter who it was aimed at or how it was reported.
Fact of the matter is that he chose to abuse another player and chose to use a word that is also used as a term of hate towards LGBTQ people. He could have chosen from any number of insults that aren't primarily used to attack a marginalised group, but he didn't.
His intent is entirely irrelevant. He used a highly offensive and bigoted word and is being punished for it. There is nothing complicated about it.

There are some serious 'replacement theory' undertones to this bedders. And I know that you hate Rupert Murdoch & his ilk, so it's mildly amusing, but mostly just ironic and disconcerting, to see you regurgitating their talking points.
I honestly believe mental heath is a bigger issue and prevention is the way to go , but people need to be aware
Four times the amount of people killed on Vic roads commit suicide , it's massive and that can take in people of all walks of life

I see a community & people simply being represented in the media as they are, you see them being "shoved down your throat."
It's a negative connotation for something that shouldn't be negative at all.
And the Swans also represent these causes. They've participated in awareness campaigns for domestic violence, they've partnered with mental health organisations like the Black Dog Institute, they've partnered with Road Safety NSW for road toll awareness.
Yet you never considered any of those causes to be "shoved down your throat."
I've formed a view that Mac Andrew is perhaps THE most over-hyped player in the AFL.
His performance this year doesn't come close to justifying the contract the Suns gave him.
Here's hoping Riak is the Chad, not the Corey of the Andrew family.

41.9% of LGBTIQ people had considered suicide in the previous 12 months, with 78.4% considering suicide at some point during their lives
There are strong links between a continued experience of discrimination and exclusion, and subsequent trauma in LGBTIQ populations.
LGBTIQ people are not counted in the census. This means that health policy and funding which is determined by census data routinely leave out LGBTIQ populations, perpetuating a cycle of invisibility in service planning and delivery
LGBTIQ young people aged 16 to 27 are five times more likely to attempt suicide (16% report attempting suicide)

With all due respect though bedders, who died and made you the arbiter of what's important and what isn't?
You may be more conscious of mental health issues because it's effected you personally, but someone who is LGBTQ might be more conscious of LGBTQ issues because it's effected them personally. Just as a woman may be more conscious of women's rights issues because it's effected them personally. Or a person of colour may be more conscious of issues relating to them because it has effected them personally.*
Etc.
The moral of the story being that, shockingly, the world does not revolve around bedford from Victoria. Or caesar from Perth. Or any one individual, for that matter. Not everything has to pertain to you or speak to you in some way (though it also can't hurt to have a little compassion and try to learn and understand about people's experiences that are different from your own.)
(And as hairy biker brilliantly put above, a lot of the aforementioned issues such as LGBTQ and mental health are intertwined anyway.)
I probably agree with most of what you posted and i won't repeat what i told you as i do know peoples experiences in the gay world.
Nothing just to do with me with Mental Health , plenty others ive experienced in playing coaching and volunteering in many decades of local sport . Try and find a young boy hanging from a tree near the club . If we knew there was issues he like others might've been saved . Im allowed to pyritise what i find more important , that's it and don't need to be called ignorant by a bully

As I said I understand your perspective.
But no one's told you that you shouldn't care about mental health, or that your AFL club shouldn't raise awareness for mental health, or described mental health awareness as being "shoved down our throat."
Yet you've said all of that back the other way about LGBTQ awareness.
I think that is the difference and why you might get push back.
I do understand other people's views on this trust me , both sides are allowed an opinion
I just don't like that the jumper is changed and we did nothing on ANZAC round with it .
