Really seems to be missing something for me. Not sure i can put my finger on it.

Could be no up and coming team really seeming to stake a claim. No upsets -with all the finals going to the favourities. The perceived invevitability of a Brisbane flag etc etc

Only final worth replaying is the Melbourne V Essendon game. This finals has been highlighted for mee because of the mighty catters in the mix. But do agree it is missing something.

This finals series has been one of best IMO. Some really good games. Essendon V Melb the best so far. Both Geelong games have been great. Two more crackers coming up this week as well.

The best four sides are fighting it out.

Will be a potentially cracking gf if port and bris get through. But cant see there has been many great games so far, no upset at all to this stage, maybe ess v dees was a fair game but even that went to the favourite in the end ....

I reckon these are going to be two cracking prelims this week.

I definitely agree that the stuff so far hasn't been all that great.

How could it be anything but completely boring when the premiers were decided weeks, maybe months ago...... FARCE!

Way i see it both showed they werent up to it in the first week of the finals, so cant see anything changing this week ...

Bring on the gf ...

Unfortunately the inevitability of Brisbane winning the flag and my mob doing their usual one week on, one week off, have made these finals less than exciting. Finals normally have plenty of blow outs, and without my mob, we wouldn't have had one game worth watching unless you supported one of the winning teams.

I think the predictability of this finals series is what has been against it from the start. :(

Agree with the best four comments. Both the Saints and the Cats are a genuine chance this week and probably due for an upset. From an interest point of view, I'm hoping for two thrillers.

What sort of chance are they? Sure they are alive but look at the odds ...

Brisbane and Port are overwhelming favourities ...

Prop No. Description $ Return Status
1002 BRISBANE $1.22 Open
1007 GEELONG $3.80 Open

Prop No. Description $ Return Status
1011 PORT ADELAIDE $1.30 Open
1013 ST KILDA $3.20 Open

And Brisbane overwhelming flag favourities ..

2004 AFL PREMIERSHIP Bet Type: Premiership
Prop No. Description $ Return Status
1302 BRISBANE $1.60 Open
1311 PORT ADELAIDE $3.50 Open

This weekend has the more entertaining matchups.

Geelong will keep grinding it out against the Lions who should break through with good tough footy.

Port vs St Kilda - if Port are in front, they'll just about always leave a small enough margin that St Kilda can see themselves winning, so probably will keep trying for longer than the one quarter they did against Brisbane. And of course, if the Saints win it'll be amusing for a neutral anyway.

Your trying hard i think. Look at the odds, port and brisbane will likely win easily imo, im a neutral so i can see that, obviously you are too involved to take it for granted.

Anyway looking at the voting on the poll seems lots of people think this finals series is really lacking something. Hopefully we get a cracker gf to make up for it. Port should really take the saints out quite easily if they are to be any real chance in the gf.

Port and Brisbane should win, but they should both be better games to watch that previous.

It probably helps that Sydney aren't still in it.

Sure, but lets be honest cats and saints just dont seem capable. There is a bit of a lack of top end depth this year vis-a-vis previous years.

each teeam that gets this far surely has a chance. Im very confident about POrt winning, but anything can happen. The Saints have the potantial to beat anyone. If riewoldt and gehrig fire up fwd and get plenty of delivery theyl be very tuff to stop...

BUt i see our rucks giving first use to our midfielders who are usually very precise with their delivery..

PORT by 6 goals (I Hope)

Saints flopped against brisbane twice, flopped against port big time, so far have not proven an ability to win big games against top teams. How will they turn it around?

Which one of St Kilda or Geelong will do a Carlton 1999 and pull off a shock thrilling victory and run into an infinately superior team in the Grand Final and get flogged?

Mind you if you take out the thrilling part of it you could say the same about us in 2000...
