2004 Player Sponsor Draft

Okay, since we've got a full complement of people signed up, lets get this underway.

There'll be two rounds in the draft, The first round is for senior players, the second is for young'uns- you can't use a first round pick to select someone like Doogs, Johnson or Staker.

Basically I divided the list by taking the 22 guys who had played the most games for the first round, and, then lumping the rest into the second round. Obviously, with 20 people selecting from 22 players that means there will be a couple of 'spare' players left over from the first round- they can be selected in the second round if anyone wants them. Also if you don't want to pick a senior player, you can always 'pass', and leave them for someone else.

Is there a time limit on selections; i.e. if you don't make your selection within a given time you go to the back of the list and the next person in line has a go and so on?

Great Idea to start this Mead.. I'm quite happy that i get the Prized #1 pick in the second round! #14 in the first round though, hopefully there'll be some good players left for me to adopt!

Good question- otherwise we could end up waiting for far too long, although I assume if anyone wanted to be in this they'd at least check back to see whether it was there turn in a reasonable time. I suppose the sensible thing to do would be to give a day for everyone to make their selection before it'd have to skip somebody, although hopefully most people will get in a lot quicker. Certainly, if you know you have a pick coming up, try and make an effort to log on and make your selection- I'm going to PM Frodo and the other first 5 people now, and hopefully they'll see it and logon tonight.

We'd need a time limit.

On the wrestling board (yes I've stooped to that low level since footy's finished! ) we have a name game going, but we have an order and there is a 24 hour limit. If you haven't named a wrestler by then you get a strike.

Maybe whoever doesn't reply within the given time limit can choose after the others or something like that as a penalty.

Good job with all that though! Its fun forming silly attachments to players!

Hey if anyone in the top 5 picks isn't sure whether they'll be on bf much in the next few days, it might make sense to pm me or someone else your first 5 (or 4, or 3, or 2) choices for players in the first round, so your selection can be put in pronto, just as soon as Frodo returns to the face of the earth and makes his selection.

I guess people never realise how often people are actually on this board.. When we are waiting for someone to reply to a post, it seems like an eternity.. When we dont think about it, it seems like those same people are on here all the time..

I just want to clarify, this is free right ?

I've heard of these sponsorship schemes, your not going to start trying to hit me for $30 a month to feed (Munro ?) and cloth my Eagle and help support his village are you ?

Do we get some kind of sponsership pack, you know, picture of player with no shoes on a dusty road (or Hayden Bunton drive ?), a poorly written letter in broken english and a hand drawn picture of an animal (one would assume an eagle) ?

Or am I expecting too much ?

Haha, i never actually thought of that.. Maybe this sponsorship program is run by world vision or some other company? Out of the $30 a month you pay to the Eagles Sponsorship program, your sponsored eagle would probably only get $10, just enough to get them through school..
Well at least a government school anyway
