Perhaps it's an argument for another thread, but is afl.com.au seriously the worst major league website going around. The fixture is an amateur, cumbersome page, and then to look at just your teams fixture, you have to download a .pdf, which has all the other teams on it too.

What's wrong with a drop down list, and then a page for just the Hawks , in my case, that I can print out !!

They are hopeless

how many sunday games!! ffs

and whats round 2? we have monday arvo?? Is that a public holiday?

Hawthorn look to have been screwed (think 8 mcg games). We have a lot of twilight sunday games  but a few big home friday night games to draw good crowds.

No surprise. Eagles screwed again. Play St Kilda Fremantle Bulldogs Sydney twice. Ridiculous.

Eagles have the toughest draw there by a country mile.. Adelaide away . All the way to Tasmania. Playing at SKilled. May aswell get Demetriou to run and kick us in the balls. Itd be less obvious

You just won the flag - sympathy will be low.

Collingwood, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane are the big winners and Essendon, Fremantle and Richmond are the big losers from the 2007 AFL fixture, released on Wednesday.....

You are the premiers ffs ! Do you want to be rewarded by playing Carlton, Hawthorn and the Roos twice !

The fixture should be very simple:

Top 8 in 2006
Play other 2006 finalists twice and bottom 8 teams once

Bottom 8 in 2006
Play finalists once, and other bottom 8 teams twice

Competitively, Melbourne has done OK. Avoid West Coast and Adelaide twice, who are our bogey teams.

Ten of our first 12 games in Melbourne is good, too, although few of those are good for us financially.

A home game against the Dogs at Telstra Dome is ridiculous.

Two games against Collingwood is a plus for crowds, as are the number of exclusive fixtures (Friday and Monday games).

Eight Sunday afternoon games blows, though, and two Saturday afternoon games (one of which is in PERTH) is equally frustrating.

Four of Melbourne's last eight games are away, including Manuka, the Gabba (both sold games), Subiaco and AAMI.

We'd want to be about 11-3 after 14 rounds to give ourselves a shot at top two.
