There's no question it's a pretty good draw from the club's perspective.....which is great and really all that matters.

If I had to be picky from an attending supporters point of view, we have 3 early Sunday games which are a pain IMO. ...and also I'm not looking forward to the Sunday twilight game at home...4.10pm start..... 7pm-ish finish on a Sunday night....:thumbsd:

But the positives are (from my perspective)

  • 7 Saturday night games - 5 at home
  • 3 Friday night games - 1 at home
  • The only time we travel interstate twice in a row is to Melbourne both times
  • Both Qld games are at night
  • no 5 day breaks
  • After the mid season break we only play at AAMI or Telstra Dome.....(only 1 exception at Skilled)

Damn, we can't use the draw as an excuse this year! :D Not as sweet as it is for some, but pretty good nonetheless.

Am I the only person who likes Sunday games? Cos the SANFL is usually on Saturdays. Also I work pretty often Saturday as well.

Excellent - at least 3 times during the regular + pre season for the AFC to rub the feral's noses in the dirt!

The more the better, I say....."12th and loving it!"

I prefer Sunday to Saturday as well for a number of reasons. One would be I don't have the sun in my eyes for half the early Sunday games :p

Agreed, especially with umpiring commitments on the Sat with the SANFL, even Sat Night games can be tight at best, and next to no chance if I have a U/19's or League appointment.

7 games in Victoria awsome!!

I love that we play in Geelong, the shortest trip I have to make, only 2 hours

Thanks for posting the draw kimirocks. It's a fantastic draw.

The TV broadcast times could be interesting, mainly for those familes that have Port and Crows supporters. There are about 6 rounds when the Power and Crows play on the same day.

In terms of TV clashes this is about as bad as it will get.
Even with a delay Rd2 will be fine, and as the local game is 2nd for the other two close clashes it isn't a concern. The games wouldn't have clashed anyway.

RD2
Sunday Apr 8
Port vs Kangaroos 12:40pm
Bulldogs vs Adelaide 4:40pm

RD17
Sunday Jul 29
Essendon vs Adelaide 1:40pm
Port Adelaide vs Melbourne 4:10pm

RD20
Sunday Aug 19
Hawthorn vs Port Adelaide 1:40pm
Adelaide vs Western Bulldogs 4:10pm

Very dissapointed with only 1 game Vs. the Eagles. How are we ever going to work out how to beat them if we don't get to play em?

At least you guys only have one Saturday home game. I sure hope I'm doing reserves the 4 or 5 times Port have Saturday games because then I can at least make the game with a mad rush to Footy Park ;)

Very happy about that. And finally get to see us play Essendon over here again. Would have been an almost perfect draw if certain Victorian teams didn't have to sell their soul and we got to play them in Victoria instead of the Gold Coast.

7 is the best we can hope for I think!

It's better than 5 anyways.

Ah mate cant complain about a trip upto the Gold Coast better than having to go to freezing cold Canberra.

Re: 2007

Best draw I've seen us have for a long time.

2 at the G including a twilight game against the Doggies.

Rnd 22 no travel to WA.

7 Games in Vic :thumbsu:

2 in QLD against sides that will be down the bottom end

only 1 in WA :thumbsu:

Only 1 saturday arvo game and 5 Sat Night games, brilliant
Very Very happy

Oh well cant complain too much...the rest looks ok. Lets hope it is correct

Sorry... I mean't for the team... not for the Perth supporters! In 2005 we had NO games in Queensland - this year we had 2 and next year we have 2! :thumbsu: At least you still get one!:o

Originally posted by relapse: Our average crowd for the year will be higher having more night games, we traditionally tend to get more people attending these games.

Sunday afternoon and Saturday afternoon games are the worst IMO. Nothing I hated more than us getting the bad timed home games while week after week a couple of years ago Port were getting nearly every home game on a Saturday night.

The only good thing about Sunday arvo games (particularly the early ones, and we had a few this year) was that we (in Queensland) were guaranteed live FTA coverage.
