Not doubting Selwood is a gun, I'd just prefer Ward. Maybe it's because I still have a soft spot for him.

Both boys won't die wondering that's for sure.

Fair enough, I just didn't agree with your reasoning.

Joel's was a lot better. Scott started well then fell in the arse. Joel in his first season as club captain carried his spluttering club for a fair chunk of the season.

If Joel didn't play, I think that Geelong would have missed the finals.

Scott Selwood eclipsed Joel in the brownlow.
And actually topped WC.
Pretty hard to say Joel's season was 'a lot better', and enough evidence to argue Scott's was better.

Scott Selwood eclipsed Joel in the brownlow. ; good on him. You using umpires to support your argument? Good for you.
And actually topped WC. Again, good on him, Joel finished second in Geelong's. Doesn't WC favour players who play more games?

Which is what?

Which is what?

Firstly, basing the Brownlow (which has become a midfielder award) as an aid for judgment of how well a midfielder's season has gone is not errant. So get off it.
Secondly, I was referring to the fact that he was the highest polling WC player in the brownlow.
But since you want to mention that Scott Selwood won the club B and F we can add that too.

I watched Joel plenty and 2012 was nowhere near his best year.
Scott was better and I've given you enough to support my argument.

No you haven't, all you've given me is your opinion.

You haven't posted any data. All you've said is that Scott finished in front of Joel in the Brownlow.
The 2 big ones are that Scott had more Brownlow votes, and had a better B+F result despite playing in the better 2012 team.

All the stats show is that Joel was more attacking, involved in more scores and inside 50s, and was not required to play the defensive roles that Scott occasionally did. Scott's higher disposal efficiency and lower clearances are also a reflection of their different roles.

Joel Selwood is a better player than Scott. But if you want to produce evidence showing Scott had a better 2012, the Brownlow and the B+F are an easy way of doing it.

1 more Brownow vote from 2 extra games, hardly compelling evidence.

Comparing different club's best and fairest results is just lunacy.

Sorry, Scott had a good year, but not better than Joel's.

I had Joel between 8-15 in the league last year.
I had Scott between 30-35 in the league last year.
Suffice to say that it wasn't close before then.
Certainly the gap has been made smaller but Scott has a ways to go to take over his brother's mantle as best Selwood.

Joel is the better Selwood easily. No shame in being second to him, he is a gun.

I wonder where Zaharakis would be placed as he was overlooked for this draft as they thought he was not good enough for AFL footy.

He was overlooked as he was underaged more so then not being good enough. Everyone at Hawks were very keen on him, well everyone apart from Clarko (enter Stuart "Sponsored by KFC" Dew). Quite a few players are overlooked and picked up the next year if they are in that 16/17 year age bracket.

Hawks were looking at him with there last selection which they ended up using on Dew, If they thought he was good enough at the time they would not have overlooked him.
