Summary: After watching him in a workout in Las Vegas -- he looks like a legit prospect. His size and strength make him a dominant force in Australia, and it looks like it can translate to the pros. He looks like a poor man's Elton Brand. He's a likely mid to late first round pick

Also Bulls getting no.1 pick = screwed
I cant say rigged because......well why would anyone think they deserve it.
Paxson has screwed up this team and the gods are just saying, go on mate have another go at this.

Projected to get 5th and we got 6th, hardly screwed.

Call me a bandwagoner, but whatever team Jawai goes to, I will support. Never really gotten behind an NBA team before for some reason, but I just love this kid. Hopefully he gets drafted.

It's just ludicrous a team who are signifignatly better than more than a few other teams ends up with the biggest reward a team can get in the draft.

The Bulls had an off year, especially considering how high some people selected them to finish.

One the other hand you have a team like Memphis who was picked to struggle again and would do even worse with their best player then traded.

Now we have the situation where a team 10+ games better and with a better overall list lands the prime opportunity to land a potential superstar while the team in a worse off position has to console itself with a pick 5 which while still a decent enough pick won't land you the calibre of player a #1 pick can potentially get you.

It's a farce.

luck of the draw. you can have the top selection and pick a dud (kwame brown) or a low one and pick a stud (kobe). just hope the clubs admin personnel (ie kupchak etc) are good and not duds like the jerry krauses of the world.

It shouldn't come down to luck of the draw though.

If a team genuinely needs help through the draft because their roster is woeful then it's stupid to have teams who are in better postions than them leapfrog them into a position where the %'s suggest you'll end up with a better player(especially in the last few years).

It's all well and good to say it's down to the admin, but when players (and they do) refuse to go to certain cities then what other hope does a less popular franchise have of getting potential superstars to the club than by the draft (i.e cleveland).

as for players not wanting to play in certain cities, yes thats true. i think charles oakley (?) said he didnt want to play in utah when asked about possible being traded there.

No no no. You have to look at why the team are poor. In a lot of cases it is the admins fault and very rarely does a player (in the draft) refuse to go to a certain city. In fact I can only remember 1, Steve Francis (little Yao doesn't count as that is just a ridiculous situation).

Every NBA team has a chance to make amends with every mistake they make. For every bad contract you have, there are 2-3 teams willing to take it on to get under the cap.

Memphis have done an extremely poor job recruiting talented players to their ball club and should not instantly be rewarded for it. They have a chance to be compensated and that is the way it should stay.

Minnesota, Seattle and Memphis all 'deserve' a higher pick than Miami. Miami won the championship a couple of years ago and our roster is actually pretty good. The first half of the year Shaq was injured and the second half wade was injured which perhaps goes along way to suggesting why we had the worst record. When you also look at injuries such as Marion, Wright & Haslem who all are big players for the franchise the only reason we had a shocking year was due to bad luck.

With the acquisition of Rose or Beasley, I'd put all the money I own on Miami making the playoffs next season.

It's not fair that Chicago get a double-double guy and Seattle get a bloke not as good. But having said that, Seattle, Minnesota and Memphis all shot themselves in the foot big time with their trades (KG, Ray Allen & Pau).

Can anyone also explain why it's done behind closed doors? How come pulling the balls out of the thingo is so private?

marion could've played more games couldn't he? wade could've as well, but he was legitimately injured for most part of the season.

as for showing the selection of ping pong balls, its not a money maker/ratings bonanza for the 5-10 minutes they do it for.

seems like a logical trade to me IMO.

bulls get a tall and true center in the back court, and also some salary cap relief.
nuggets get a tall PG, who can also defend the 2 to play alongside AI.

im not getting ahead of myself, but im jumping big time on the T-blazers band-wagon.
Does anyone else reckon they will make some serious noise next year? I personally think finals is big chance! Oden will be ready straight away and Randolph and Roy may be all stars next year.

high basketball iq (usually reserved for white players)

athletic
positive in locker room
agile
comes from a winning culture/program
internationally experienced
did well at draft camp
can't teach size
highlights of him showed he never misses a shot, rebounds every ball and blocks every shot
great passer
