Not bad. I like our draw. Except for eight Friday night games. that's way too much. I like four games at MCg but we never play home there so that would never happen. Good effort. Love Geelong and hawthorn in round one!:thumbsu:

EDIT - Actually, as someone who has had a long term interest in creating fixtures, how did you do this? I did one last year but I can't remember how I did it either. It was quite difficult though, so anyone shooting this down, just realise how hard and how many factors there are to consider when doing this - especially without the AFL software.

Rd 21. WC have to play a home game as there is noway they would play 3 away games in a row.

Yep, both derbies need to be switched. He's got Freo playing 3 away games at the start of the season.

You've got two games in WA in round 6 - not going to happen. Freo should have the Anzac night game. Freo also only have a 5 day break. Move the game to Saturday and it's good.

You've also got Freo down for 12 home games. I'm not complaining, but can't see Vlad being that generous.

The two WA teams need to rotate between home and away - the travel is too much to do it 2 weeks in a row.

Round 1 next season is starting on Friday 27 March and round 12 is the split round.

Sunday, 9th August

North Melbourne v Brisbane Lions MCG

We aren't allowed to be fixtured for 2:10pm games on Sunday's.

Saturday, 29th August

Essendon v Brisbane Lions MCG (t)

The Brisbane Lions aren't allowed to be fixtured in twilight matches.

Love the Friday night vs Collingwood in round three but does it have to be following a 6 day break returning from Subi? Same goes the 6 day break coming back from Subi for the Friday night game later in the season. It's a tough call. 6 day break coming back from the GABBA as well.

First 5 games are away games? A bit extreme.

Round 6 home game vs Hawthorn should be without a doubt be at the MCG instead of the Telstra Dome! Change it please! Home game at the Dome against St Kilda? THat's their home ground, not ours. If I did count 4 home games at the Dome that's never going to happen. We would and have refused it.

While that is picked out its a great effort to make a draw and well done on the effort but definitely back to the drawing board in regards to Richmond.

Love Geelong playing so many MCG matches and hate them playing so many Sunday matches. The real fixture will reverse that around on both fronts as the AFL for some reason this year didn't grant our MCG preferences so I doubt that they do it in '09. Too many Sunday games for the team that will go into the season as sole or duel favourite to win the GF again.

As a side note - Did you follow the contracts the AFL has with the MCG and TD? ie. How many games must be played there etc.

Melbourne to end with five away games? Not a chance. WCE, three consecutive away games? Collingwood to host Melbourne for Queens Birthday, pretty rare, look at old fixtures.

One interesting one that I'd love to go to- Hawks and Richmond twilight. Anzac eve. I really like Monday night football. More of this would be great. Finish work, MCG, go home, EXCELLENT.

I'm ready for my knockers on this one but I'd love to see the rivalry round not covered by any memberships. This would allow a double header at the G that would definately sell out. The AFL could make good money on this with an addition to ticket prices because you are paying for a longer day. Food sales would be huge and they could have a period between games where alcohol is restricted if they think binge drinking would be a problem. All four teams playing would have the experience of a Grand Final(a packed house with half the people not caring about their game).

What do you think assassin?

If the AFL ever DID do a double header, then round 22 is the wrong time for it. Imagine if all 4 teams are playing for nothing at the end of the season. It would be 6 hours of excruciating boredom. Better off being in the first half of the season.

How the hell would they schedule a double-header at the MCG FFS ?

Also it has been reported on 3AW that next year that both Hawthorn and Carlton will be playing at least 6 games on friday night next year ...
No Friday Night games for North next year either (Channel 7 don't want any more games on friday night with North it seems)

I hope not we play 6 away interstate games, plus one home game thats away at Carara (Im guessing that is what the c stands for?). Plus we also play Geelong at Skilled Stadium.

If we get that draw we are being ****ed over big time!

Wow:eek:....

Good to see Collingwood are being made to travel 5 times this year:thumbsu:
