Yeah I ran the unofficial one with all the avatar punishments and stuff but I'm going to be o/s for a chunk of this season so I won't be able to do it. Someone else can step up if they want but I bet you're all too lazy.

Dublin is where my uncle lives. He's getting married in a castle so we're staying there for a couple of nights which is going to be pretty pricey.
I might see if I can throw some peasants in the dungeon while I'm there - I think there's a couple of eagles supporters going.

Say it isn't so esti. I'm happy that you're getting out of the house but I'm really going to miss your work. That was the most fun I've had in a tipping comp. You were brilliant at it.
I'd love to help keep the unofficial comp going but I have a hard enough time even getting my tips in. How much of the season will you be away for? Is it something you might be prepared to do part time with one of the regulars filling in while you're away?
(I'm thinking you Ripper. Unless you're too busy making hats?)

I'll be around until July but I'll probably miss the rest of the season from then on. I don't know if I really want to start it if I can't see it through to end when Lachy picks up his inevitable Donkey of the Year award.

Btw if anyone does do it (or if/when I get back into it in future years) we need to change the points bonus for closest margin to 1 point.
2 points was just too much - I was finding that nearly every week whoever got the closest margin was winning the round.

I would say I'd do it but I'm moving in about a month or so and I don't know how I will go with regards to regular internet access. I'll do a bit of a caretaker job in the meantime if nobody puts their hand up.

With this new system, I can't help but think that the special rules (nominating the closest game and the biggest flogging) become a little futile. Does this mean we shouldn't bother?

Good idea. If Chief is true to his word and has prizes for each team's comp we don't want a heap of blow-ins.
