At this stage we have picks 5, 21, 25, 37, 41, 53, 75, 91.

Here is some video footage of Jordan Grysberts, Ben Griffiths and Andrew Moore from their Qualifying Final win against the Geelong Falcons on the weekend.

Jordan Grysberts: Played in the midfield and also up forward. He had 15 kicks, 12 handballs, 2 tackles and he also kicked 3 goals and 1 behind.

heres what i would like to see

5 - rohan or martin (cant decide, good luck lewis bryce)
21 - ryan bastinac
37 - nicky winmar

then we should definitely get michael barlow from werribee with one of the late picks

wouldnt mind griffiths but surely we have had enough of injury prone players

Not having seen any mock drafts or reviews yet. Where would you think these guys would go in the draft anyway? 1st round, 2nd etc.....

as long as its not Lewis Jetta from Swan districts.....watching Subiaco Versus Swan districts as we speak.....skinny little bitch with no tank. A bit flashy but seems like another Wells...injury prone sometimes super star?

Jordan Grysberts out of those three for me. Good movement for his size and seems to use it well when he gets it. Bar a few mistakes.

Are there any 19-21 year olds that are killing it in the state leagues?

Cause we should try and use one of our draft picks on a mature aged player.
We all know how good Anthony is, if we could find another hidden gem it would be great for us.
Especially now that Gold Coast and maybe a West Sydney team coming in, we gotting start looking at these sorts of players.

Am watching the game aswell looks exiting when he gets the ball but he doesn't tackle or do the hard yards maybe its because he knows he going to be drafted so he takes the foot of the pedal. I honestly wouldn't mind him but i think the eagles will pick him up with their second rounder. I hope we either get Cunnington Rohan or Duncan with our first rounder. Cunnington has a beautiful kick and is probably the best skilled out of all 3. Rohan adds that X factor that we so desperatly need haven't seen much of Duncan so carn't comment on him. Winmar would be a good choice went to school with this bloke and watch reguarly done at Claremont played with him a few times at colts hes got a huge kick and can lock down CHB postion.

Lol, another Wells?

Wells>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jetta

Wells was runner up in the Sandover as a 17 year old.

We should certainly be drafting for needs.

Areas that require attention at this stage are midfield and key forwards.

The club has already stated that they shall be focusing on a quality midfielder with their first pick so, unless Butcher falls to 5, I reckon one of Cunnington, Martin, Lucas or Morabito will be selected, depending on availability. Rohan is not a pure mid and is a bit of a risk, so I reckon the club will overlook him. We need to get this pick right.

Second round is interesting. At pick 21 it is assumed that all the cream will be gone. Bastinac or Christensen would be good here, but not sure if they will be around. Another that may be around is Ben Griffiths, KPF. Do we go with a runner again, or do we get a KPF if available? I would go with Griff if available.

From there, best available or projects as it is a bit of a lottery from round 3 onwards. Could do with a project CHB/FB or CHF/FF, just in case Hansen and Tarrant do not come on and Delaney doesn’t make it. Getting someone like Winmar might be a good idea in round 3. Could be a gem, but like all gems they need to be searched for and then polished. The recruiters are going to earn their cash from round 3 on this year.

So, in brief:

Round 1: Mid (Cunnington, Martin, Lucas or Morabito. Martin for mine)
Round 2: KPF, then Mid (Griffiths or Bastinac)
Round 3: Mid or KPP (lucky dip)
Round 4: Mid or KPP (lucky dip)

be honest with yourself,

do you think Wells plays with alot of heart.....

He has had a tendency to go AWOL at times, for sure, but there have been many factors involved here. The least considered one has been the fact he and Boomer have been smashed from pillar to post by hard taggers, with bugger all protection from our bigger bodied players, as they've been our only obvious weapons.

People sometimes forget that Wells played with injury for almost all of 2008 and was as damaging as anyone, bar Boomer.

Yeah, he's a shy bloke and somewhat introverted, but to question his heart is over the top IMO. To say he can't play with injury is perpetuating the bullshit Laidley spruiked when Wells' injury was obviously far worse than he'd let on.

Thank you for your opinion,

i agree that Daniel Wells is an injury prone player, and he probably always will be, that taken into account he probable always plays with heart and that shows some mental strength,

my point was in the context of the draft discussion and lewis jetta...he seems a similar type, but do we need another daniel Wells?, full of potential but always lacking in match fitness and yes occasionally heart....thats my opinion,

ive met Daniel a number of times, including in social settings, it goes without saying he is one of the nicest people you would ever meet. But in todays game of gut running, and putting your head over the ball, i think his body type and shape is just not AFL handy. IMO

Rohan and Martin? They'd be too old now. They hosted "Laugh In" when Goldy Hawn was a teenager.
