I think i should point out that Veszpremi is actually a midfielder and was only playing in the forward line this year due to lack of fitness. With a good preseason under his belt he should be fit enough to play in the midfield next year.

i reckon they will still give him another year up forward though. he needs to build up more body to him as well before he can play a full season in the midfield PLUS we need a good crumbing forward!!

but im sure he'll do some stints rotating through the middle.

Murphy could eventually play the ROK role, he has the aerobic capacity. But he's so big and loves the physical stuff that it would seem like a waste to not play him as a key forward.

Barlow, as you said, would be the other candidate but would need to toughen up at the contests.

In any case, you wouldn't expect any one player to fill in ROK's shoes completely next year.

We won't have a forward line by the end of trade week ;) God it's depressing.

I hope people are coming around to my way of thinking that we really need to draft a Key Position Forward with our 1st Round draft pick. Otherwise next season we could end up with our main forward target being Henry Playfair.

RUNVS, it's very unlikely that any KPP drafted will play in his first year. Did any of the talls drafted this year play a major role in their side?

We'd be looking to the likes of Grundy, White and Faulks to step up.

Grundy - Does have potential in the forward line but we cant rely on him stepping up as we have no real evidence that he will do a reasonably job in the forward line.
White - Hasnt impressed me. I know he has only played twice but he runs around like a headless chicken and doesnt really seem to have any idea what he is supposed to be doing.
Faulks - I was under the impression that Faulks is a defender.

or maybe we trade aggressively to get a KPP from another club. hawthorn and geelong both have a couple of younger players who would be itching for a game but can't break into the 22.

Grundy - has always impressed me:p! Strong mark has some footy smarts not afraid to get into the vicinity of contest if not told to P' off by BBBH!
Rookie and seemingly 'short of a few marbles':o.... but if he was given the opportunity of 20 games like Bird then we might find out??? One way or the other!

White- ditto^ has not been given a chance can be a constant match winner forward in the ressies!

Faulks - some of the best backman start as forwards they know the opposition mentality. AND VISA VERSA Rookie too.... ditto^

All talls with a few years development.... GIVE 'eM a GO!!:thumbsu:
