Mitchell prepares to impress
Dion Prestia and Jordan Schroder are two more midfielders that could land on AFL lists. Schroder is the dark horse according to coach Martin Allison.

''He [Schroder] probably gets under some people's radar,'' Allison said.

All-Australian centre half-back Matthew Watson and Cameron Guthrie are two modern-day footballers that have the versatility to play in defence and up forward. Allison said he would be surprised if they weren't on recruiters wish-lists.

''Those sort of guys recruiters have been focusing a fair bit on and I expect them to be high performers on the weekend,'' he said.

Power coach Damian Carroll believed Heppell wasn't the only Gippsland player to warrant attention today - citing the likes of Jed Lamb, Dean MacDonald and half-back flanker Michael Ross as likely candidates for the AFL draft.

Sounds like Luke Mitchell had a big game in the TAC cup Grand Final. Five goals and lots of strong marking in the forward 50. Prestia outstanding as well with 36 touches.

Who's this Luke Mitchell, anyway, and where's he likely to go in the draft? I used to follow the TAC CUP a lot more than I do now before I became disillusioned. :(

Watched the TAC Grand Final and Prestia was robbed of BOG. Was everywhere, set up play, plays a team orientated and smart game. Watson was excellent at CHB shutting down his opponent and peeling off to drive the ball forward. Mitchell impressed with strong marking and 5 goals. Lamb had his moments (burned off down the wing and kicked a goal from the boundary 50 out ). Wallis worked hard in the packs but was barely noticeble on the outside TBH. David Meli had a ton of the pill but was ineffective. Bradyn Grenfell was solid, took a few good marks. Guthrie was lively up forward. Heppell was poor, didn't get as much of the pill as I expected and wasted his shots on goal. Bugg is a skillful defender, but I saw him make a mistake or two (Brain fades). Tipungwuti always looked like he was doing something, but it never came off.

Thats pretty much it

I am sure Wallis did. But from where I was sitting (HBF/HFF) I saw very little of him. I know he does a lot of the work in the packs, so I assume that is where he got most of his possessions. It is a lot easier to note outside players then it is inside players unfortunately. Nonetheless Prestia was fantastic and lit a fire under the Cannons to get them up and about, I think he was definetly BOG

Wallis would have had close to 50, an absolute workhorse performance.....we'd be lucky to add him to our list.

Watson was beaten early by Marusic which is a worry as he isn't the most agile bloke going around, but to his credit worked into it and blanketed him after 1/4 time..

Guthrie mostly ran with Heppell.

Love how BF develops it's faves though :)

Which one was the fave?

I agree on Wallis being a workhorse, didn't see a whole lot of his work due to sitting on the flank. Also only got there at the start of the second due to ticketing confusion

Being merely an unashamed youtube recruiter :p, the concern I have with Watson is his lack of agility. Like Whitnall he's a big lump of a kid ready to play senior footy but whether he's the right body shape to play AFL for a 10-15 yr period is unknown.

Just not sold that the young man has the required athleticism to match a Pavlich, Goodes, Franklin or a Reiwoldt. Hence in the 'modern game', what position does he play?

I agree with to an extent....agility and turning circle the knock....I reckon he's quick enough in straight lines.....but you have to take the good with the bad, and the good is footy smarts, reading of the play and that left foot. You will have to work on match-ups, and you probably won't be playing him on the Goodes and Frankln's of the world

Fap.

And Tape plays for Glenelg.

Fap, fap, fap...

Not a fellow supporter of Glenelg are ya TG? Seb does look like an interesting prospect. .. any relation to Jamie Tape?

Although I must admit since the move to Vic I haven't followed the Tigers as closely. ..

I'm warming more towards the mids/flankers at pick 18. None of the talls around that mark strike me as being better AFL quality than the likes of say a Caddy, Guthrie, Jacobs or Cripps for example. Peoples concerns on Watsons agility are pretty sound I reckon. He could be exposed if taken deep by his opponents. His straight line pace is good and he reads it coming in brilliantly, but he's turned inside out a little too easily for mine.

Cook would do well at Carlton and I'm a big fan of Josh Green. Jayden Pitt is the one I really like this year.

really hope we get jayden pitt. looks great. we need that kind of player to replace scotland when he retires. can use it very well on both sides of his body. dont think he would slip out to 18 but if we can get a trade going with adelaide and their pick 14 i reckon we should definitely pick him up.
