Weedons a good pickup don't worry about that. He came to the club in poor condition but he's got talent no doubt.

Atley isn't an inside midfielder but can certainly win his own hard ball when he needs to, can press forward and also play across the backline.

I don't see Parker or Brodie Smith as realistic options at 4. Have limited need for both.

Have you drafted well in the last two drafts?

I honestly think that you have to really assess very carefully how good the cattle that you have are, despite what you have picked up. From an outsider's perspective, you don't have many players that are currently good users of the ball (Naitanui seems as good a kick as any of the above mentioned players bar maybe Stevens and Smith). Whilst I believe that one or two might have the talent to become quality kicks, there is a fair chance that they might not either.

The modern game revolves around having an effective midfield, and at the moment its the area of the game that you are generally getting killed in. IMO a midfielder who has the skills and one of either ball winning ability and height, or a pacy outside the packs, would really help your team.

Dissapointing from a freo supporter you should know the eagles picks better. Sheppard was one of the best kicks in his draft (possibly bested by tapscott and martin) and shueys is just as good. The problem with gaff for the eagles is that they dont need a rebounding defender/ link player with good kicking skills we've already got that in hurn, sheppard, smith and stevenson. its that we need a good quality midfielder with foot skills. coz ebert and swift are inconsistent as hell with their kicks (get the feeling its not the talent its the pressure and mental side with them) and masten's kick has gotten worse every year since he was drafted. The question being can gaff play as a true midfielder? eagles also need a linebreaker and someone who can crumb up forward. Long story short we need bennell.

I was pissed off as hell when we drafted weedon. Thought we shoulda gone with a black or carlisle for a tall fwd or colyer. He Hasnt done nething to change my mind yet. He's meant to be "quick" but i really dont think he is, he just seems to lumber and glide around and can take a grab in the air. if we wanted that x factor we shoulda gone for a pacey crumber. That being sed i havnt seen that much of him and our recruiters picked him before kobe so they must rate him. he also hasnt been able to break into wafl seniors yet (1 game then dropped back to reserves i believe). Am i judging him to harsh? anything about him i dont know? i guess he does still have potential.

Man, you guys sure could of done with Colyer. He has been unreal with Essendon - providing lots of run through the middle, link up and has started to really nail his kicks.
