Just watched this youtube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ffataeer6M&feature=fvw of our round 3 game against the cats.

A few players that featured were Morabito, Headland, Haselby, Hayden, Barlow and Ballantyne who are now either retired or injured.
On face value it looks like a big hole to fill.

Morabito - do you think Broughton or Mellington is able to fill in here?

I think Fyfe and company did a good job to nullify Headlands retirement.

Mzunga for Hayden is a no-brainer.

Barlow replaces Haselby, but who replaces Barlow?

Hopefully Ballantyne will be up for round 1.

....and add Tarrant being dragged off home by his missus to the list too.

Your thoughts fellow football deprived fans?

Tarrant didn't play round 3.

A few support players for Freo who played a handy role in that game are guaranteed to not be playing.

But Geelong will be missing the bloke who got 4 goals and 30+ possessions in that match.

Otherwise, they had a near full complement in the midfield, and the players they were missing on the day will all be 30+.

From this far out, it should be a close game.

We'll be right... (BTW its Round 2 we play the Cats )

Just watchin the first 2 plays we still have most of the pieces to this puzzle.

  1. Sandi tap to Crowly (who shrugs off Ablett), to Mundy, looped over to Sandi who pumps inside 50 to McPhee...
  2. Mundy -> Broughton -> Mayne -> Pav
Remember Geelong will be without a few of their 2010 list as well:
Bomber Thompson and Gablett to name 2 of them... :thumbsu:

Including the C Scott factor, it should be interesting. Hopefully the new players mentioned in this thread can add a surprise factor to it all.

We are definitely the Club of opportunity. You have already covered most of those players in Fyfe, Mz and Barlow. JA will be an "in" and we need to find an accumulator. Palmer is the key.
