Darrou's video reminds me of a certain #33 that used to roll around out there...

That crashing of packs and body on the line style of play was very evident.

Of course, stepping up a level or two the effectiveness goes down a bit but some more seasons of development definitely worth the pick...

As for Naaaaablett... as a rookie pick sure why not. Under the the following condition.. he is fully head down bum up and works. No chances or excuses...
Train hard and play harder or leave.

The upside is too great to ignore for the sake of stubborness - that said he has one shot or he is cut. And perhaps the chance to be the only family member at the club and not have to be compared to GA every day might help...

Go Catters...

Have to say meto this kid looks all right.....does the hard things and appears a team player. Looks like he can deliver hand and foot as well....

Someone will pick him up you would think.

But was that a Travis Tuck rumour i heard?

Are we considering recruiting Travis Tuck? Hmm

I thought I'd name a few more guys worth mentioning before tomorrow. I'll try stick with guys that haven't been brought up much.

Lachlan Boyd - Sandringham - KPD

Beautifully skilled defender who showed good signs during the TAC Cup finals. At 195cm, I'm a bit surprised there hasn't been more talk about him. Nice clean hands who looked capable one on one in the couple of times I saw him.

Piva Wright - Dandenong - Utility

Big bodied kid who is fantastic one on one. Ideally would love to see him a bit taller than his 188cm to play KPD, but he was able to play in the ruck a lot for the Rays due to being so good to keep his position under the ball. He was able to get some big possession tallies while playing through the middle also.

Mitch Wooffindin - Oakleigh - Midfielder

One of my real favourites. He was in a similar position to Jordan Schroder this year in that he was the 4th best midfielder in his TAC Cup team after Tyson, Greene and Viney, which lead to less opportunities. His greatest strength is his clean hands in tight. He also showed during the champs that he can have an impact off the back flank. There are question marks on his endurance, but it's an easily solved problem in an AFL environment. Likely AFL player if given the chance.

Jack Hannath - Centrals - Ruckman

20 year old SANFL ruckman who apparently developed really well this year. I was a big fan of his as an 18 year old. I obviously didn't see too much of him this year, but he's got an AFL frame that will continue to fill out and I see him as a far safer pick than some of the other rucks available.

Lin Jong - Oakleigh - Utility

Very interesting prospect. Another 188cm guy who played a lot in the ruck. He is a very stringy looking player with a giant leap. He basically played as an outside 5th midfielder when in the ruck and produced some real line breaking moments. I don't know much about his background, but he appears to have a huge scope for improvement. He is the type of player the rookie draft was made for.

Jackson Coleman - Sandringham - KPF/Ruck

Talented cricketer who has decided to give footy a crack very late. Kicked plenty of goals this year and has very strong hands. He suits the sub rule perfectly in that he can relieve in the ruck if needed. Plenty of development left and would be seen as a long term option despite being older than most of the TAC Cup players.

Aseri Raikiwasa - Port Adelaide - Defender

I really liked Aseri at the Champs. I my opinion, he was one of the Top 2 or 3 performed KPD's for the series. Unfortunately, probably a little small to play KPD at AFL level but he still has great attributes as a HBF or 3rd tall. He even has the potential to play the modern Sam Fisher type position.

Shaun Marusic - Gippsland Power - Utility

193cm overager who has a big engine. He probably plays a bit shorter than what he really is, but he continuely works hard to get in good positions all over the ground. I personally see a lot of Cameron Ling in him. He could well be a very dangerous tall tagger who could hurt going the other way.

Damian Mascitti - Oakleigh - Forward

Obviously got a bit of attention when Emma Quayle announced him as a bit of a smokie before the draft, but I wanted to mention him as I've liked him for a while. Another over age player, he kicked 37 goals in the TAC Cup, mainly as a lead up HFF type. But I was impressed when pushed into the midfield where he got the footy in great positions and used his excellent disposal with perfection. He has great goal nous and has the habit of popping up at the right time. Pace is the only question mark.

Jack Frost - Williamstown - KPD

Has also been mentioned, but if we are going to go for a KPD, Jack Frost is my number one option. He did really well earning a spot in a strong finals bound Williamstown senior team and held it convincingly. He is quick and agile like his brother, yet seems to be a far more natural footballer and better kick. Lets not forget that he is the same age as Andrew Boseley and in my opinion has just as much potential development and more runs on the board. I would love to see him at the Cats!

I'm still backing in 2 ball magnets

Carn't wait to find out who Wells will go with, so far I'd give the boss 8.5 out of 10 for the Nat draft.
What time is it on today?
