Round 8 Captain

Last week 28% of us got it right and ran with big Sandi v Richmond and gained a handy advantage over those who went with the other popular picks Bartel (112) and Selwood (126).

He managed a lazy 162 which was a massive 59 points more than his average of his last 5 games against the Tiges :thumbsu:

This week, we see our perma-capt return against one of his least favoured teams, Geelong. His previous scores against them are 131, 106, 116, 109, 67, 102, 104 @ an average of 105, which imo are not huge numbers by his lofty standards and makes not making him skipper an option.

Still undecided myself but i'm leaning towards not having my captain from the Pies v Cats game

Poll coming.

EDIT: Looks like i ****ed up with 2 Buddys
It was meant to be the first one as Buddy, 2nd one is Cox, both average the same against that opp.

EDIT: Fixed.

Re: Round 8 Captain

My captain options in the midfield are on a bye or in a top of the table clash. My rucks, both captaincy options, are playing each other. Goddard is out of form and my forward options are playing each other.

J. Riewoldt against a Lake-less Dogs? I've seen weirder things, but not many. Tempting though.

Re: Round 8 Captain

There isn't really a clear stand out for me this week at the moment. Sandi is against Cox. Lots of players in the Pies v Cats games could potentially take a lot of points off each other. Saints aren't firing, if anything my favourite as captain choice this week is Goodes against the struggling Port at home, averaging 112 in his last 4 against them.

Re: Round 8 Captain

I don't think I could ever pick Goodes. Any time he scores over 50 is a bonus enough.
My captain pick has to be someone that's consistent...

Consistent against Port though. :p 116, 106, 111, 118 in the last 4. And Goodes has scored 4 tonnes from 6 games this year so it's not all that bad a choice, have to admit his DT/SC ratio hasn't been the best since the start of 2010.

Re: Round 8 Captain

When I find myself in times of trouble, Dane Swaaaan comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, just pick me.

Swanny it is. ;)

I was just about to say Goodes Ed, tough one to pick this week

Goodes is scary...geez if Goodes could kick straight, he would score monster scores..

ROK? against Port...too risky I guess

Re: Round 8 Captain

Swan I think will score well.

Tough opponent team yes but Ling can't tag him, so unless they sacrifice Kelly to the job (which I seriously doubt) he'll score very very well.

That said, if it hails outside my window on friday like it did today, I'll switch to Bartel, always a gun in the wet.
