Sorry fellas, only got access to a laptop so can't put the usual averages up. Tough to say who the obvious choice this week is but boy does Buddy vs a Port team who's made 8 changes this week looks tempting :thumbsu:

Re: Round 21 Captain

I'm going with S. Mitchell this week. Last time Buddy played a crap team and I made him captain I got burned. His form his been down recently and he is too inconsistent.

Re: Round 21 Captain

Just about the toughest choice of year for me:

A bit hesitant to go for a Pies or Saints player against each other.
Avoiding Ablett due to the injury factor.
Cox injusy factor again.
Judd often follows a montser score with an average one.
Franklin very tempting but hasnt been in the best form of late.

Will probably ingnore my hesitancy and just select Swan.

Re: Round 21 Captain

Judd or Pendles, just can't overlook Pendles' average but Judd has played alot of games out West so will be used to the conditions.

Re: Round 21 Captain

Ablett has never scored 100+ on the Gabba. Go and look at his history. I'd be very concerned about giving him the C this week.

Re: Round 21 Captain

Surprised at the lack of Selwood love. His lowest score against Adelaide is 121 and he averages 128 against them. Should be a lock.

Re: Round 21 Captain

Ablett also only scored 75 last time against the Lions, in a game they won. Was there any reason for this? I see he scored more in DT that game too which is a little unusual for him.

I haven't chosen my captain yet. Judd and Sam Fisher look promising. Swan and Pendles could both do well. If Cox wasn't under an injury cloud I'd consider him. NDS usually likes playing the Pies, does a lot of kicking in etc. Looking like a lot of players could do well this weekend.

He had Raines wearing him like a speedo and Rischa and Brennan dominated snatching points. He'll have to deal with Raines again but I've got a sneaking suspicion he's in store for a big one. Captain for me. Hopefully he's the only Sun to score well.

Re: Round 21 Captain

Raines and then Polkinghorne when Raines went off from my memory. Gaz's other score at the GABBA this year was 92 or something. Even last year, he "only" scored 102 against the Lions at the GABBA.

Selwood or Pendles for me. Would go Selwood, but Rielly seems to be quite a decent tagger (when it comes to limiting SC scores anyway)

Ablett also copped a knock (corked thigh?) early in the game, limiting his time on ground.

Re: Round 21 Captain

There's a bunch of reasons you could say that Ablett didn't score well in round 7.

Raines usually does a great negating role, yeah. But he was off after half time.

Ablett also spent a fair bit of time on the bench, after getting kicked in the knee and having a big bump in the ribs. Was running around very sore.

Also, his form wasn't vintage Ablett stuff at that point. I believe up to about.. round 10 or 11? He was scoring sub-100s in most games, largely due to a hampered pre-season. Since then, he's been belting them out.

I wouldn't personally put the C on Ablett this week, but he may well just dominate after having a week off. Raines is a good tagger, but I think Ablett at the moment is just untouchable. If Raines limited Ablett to 30 possessions, that'd be a good job. ;) But given that this is a huge game for the Suns, Ablett may just play out of his skin and kick a few goals too.

Re: Round 21 Captain

Considering Goodes v Richmond. In excellent form I think he has scored 130 and 160 in the past two weeks and should dominate a weak Richmond outfit. I'll probably change it to Ablett just before lock out though.

Re: Round 21 Captain

Thinking GAJ but that 19 from his last injury is still pretty haunting in the memory, surely he's over this hamstring stuff and wouldn't be playing unless he was unrestricted. If i pussy out on GAJ i think it'll be Swan, will probably miss the tag with the saints sending their negators to Thomas and Pendles.
