This is where we can discuss all aspects of the draft in the lead up, as it happens and discuss the aftermath!

It's not limited to just Adelaide, feel free to comment on other clubs picks, how Andy D is presenting and anything else of note.

Will open tomorrow.

Oh yeah, inb4 wepassedonebertlulz

T -10 hours till the draft and Andy D's smug reverse order smile. Did Patton slide to #10, or is he #1, who knows, WHO?!

Emma Q's Phantom will create some chatter before that suspence though, so feel free to reel of rumours etc. Jordan Murdoch is creating some buzz on where he will land, Carlton and GC keen, I'm a little keen too.

As I posted in Looking to the Draft, sounds like Brenton McCartney wants to Pick Sam Kerridge according to Jay Clarke, WB recruiter still wants Crozier. Could impact our pick.

There's a few teams ahead of us who will impact us. WB, North, Essendon, Carlton, GC being the main ones who will be after similar blokes.

I cannot remember being this apathetic towards the draft in a very long time. Pick 27 in a pool that runs 15 players deep. Yay. Wake me up when it's over.

Honestly, I think it will be a miracle if any of our 2011 draftees are still on the team list in 2015. So why get excited about someone who is almost certainly doomed to failure, due to a lack of talent?

IT's good though Vader.

Players like a Sloane, who's a third round pick in previous drafts, can still be had. Go after guys with weaknessess they can tolerate.

Negative much.

Surely its better to look forward to the event, hope your new draftees will be successful than write them off 3 seconds after they are picked.

Yea your right, its like all those players we have taken on rookie lists over the years.

Every one of them a complete and utter spud, like Petrenko. Or Special J.

Bock and Rutten are both duds too come to think of it. Oh wasnt Jacobs a rookie listing? Need to get rid of him before 2014, super spud.

Seriously vader? Seriously?

They may not be elite but it is actually intereting to see if our recruiter will be able to pull a few Sloanes out of what is a weak draft.

Slight off topic, but still relevant, but will Brad Crouch be presented with today's draftees next week and begin training with them? Cannot wait for a glimpse of him at training close up :D:thumbsu:

Personally, I hope we land Mitch Grigg (played with his Dad, gee I feel old, but something to hang my hat on to mates) elite kick but by all reports a bit slow, but has the endurance, hey you wouldnt say D Jarman, Greg Williams or Simon Black for that matter wer fast but their kicking and ability to find the pill was extroadinary.

Mitch Grigg = footballer

Pick footballers over athletes I say

Brad will come over after his last exam.

He won't be presented as this years 'draftee', but he'll come over and do the usual meet the media like the draftees.

There are good players to be found in every draft (some more so than others). For a lot of these kids the talent is there but they are just missing that something special to allow them to stand above the rest. We need to see this draft as a valuable opportunity to improve our list. There is known quality up to 30 (well as known as draft quality can be) and plenty of players that have something to offer in the later rounds. Finding good players in this draft where other teams don't could bring us a few steps closer to a flag. Keep your chin up:thumbsu:.

Yes probably some of our picks won't cut it, but that is the case most years.

Guess we need to remember that Crouch would have been top 5 next year and need to think of him as the cream and anyone else we get as a bonus.

Just hope we go for good picks with good kicks, such a bugger to try and break kicking styles now if they are bad. We need good kicks to deliver to the forwards so we can see Tipp and Tex kick some bags in 2012.

I must admit that while not necessarily as negative about this draft as Vader is, Rendell will have to really earn his money to come up with 100 plus gamers with our draft picks, particularly after pick 27.

As always, I'm looking forward to the draft, but nowhere near as excited as normal, as in effect, we have already taken our first round draft pick for both this year and next in Brown and Crouch, who almost certainly will be long term players for our club.

So, this draft is really like part 2 for us, where we start at the beginning of the second round. Pick 27 should net us a reasonable player if our homework is correct, but you'd have to think that the picks after that are very speculative

Because it is not an overly strong draft, if we get long term players out of tonight's selections, Rendell will be a genius IMO.

Little disappointed to hear that Kerridge might be out of our grasp, if the rumours are to be believed, but that could bring its own benefits. Will be very interesting to see what happens tonight.

Bulldogs would be crazy to pass up Crozier though.

I think GWS would be off their nut to let him go as well.

Anyone know the real story behind that? Sounds like the infighting has already begun...

Media reports indicate that McCartney wants an inside mid while Dalrymple wants Crozier. Whether or not that's true is anyone's guess, but apparently Kerridge was interviewed by the dogs very very recently so maybe the coach got his way?

Or perhaps Dalrymple also wanted an inside mid, but the one they wanted (some are suggesting Clay Smith) will be gone by 17.

Not sure why they wouldn't just split the difference and take Kavanagh. Better prospect than Kerridge and (barring injury) more likely to make it than Crozier.

And how Clay Smith is top 20 material, even in this draft, I'll never know. Poor kick.
