Little disappointed to hear that Kerridge might be out of our grasp, if the rumours are to be believed, but that could bring its own benefits. Will be very interesting to see what happens tonight.

Bulldogs would be crazy to pass up Crozier though.

Looks like Kerridge will be gone by the time our pick comes up.
Forster/McKenzie/Murdoch still possibilities at 27 though :)

Ive never seen such a volatile draft in terms of where players may end up.

I cannot remember being this apathetic towards the draft in a very long time. Pick 27 in a pool that runs 15 players deep. Yay. Wake me up when it's over.

Honestly, I think it will be a miracle if any of our 2011 draftees are still on the team list in 2015. So why get excited about someone who is almost certainly doomed to failure, due to a lack of talent?
Jesus you can be a depressing bastard.

Time to leave Canberra, Vader.

Would be really happy with one of those 3.

Murdoch is now my preferred option.

Doesn't look like he would make it to our pick though, with Carlton and Gold Coast seemingly very interested.

Depressing attitude here. I am sure we will find a some good players considering our position. Where would Brown be taken if he was in the draft? Top 15 really?

For shits and giggles, how about doing a closest-to-pin for tonight's draft?

My thoughts:

Pick 27: Forster
41: Grigg
46: Waldhuter
64: Spurr

My thoughts.... will probably change them prior...

27 - McKenzie
41 - Grigg
46 - Ellis-Yeoman
64 - Neale

I hope we take Lachie Neale despite his size I truly think he may end up being the bargain buys of this years draft.

Yes, I'm depressed at the low probability of us achieving anything vaguely resembling success at the draft table tonight. Rendell's failure with picks in the 30+ range has been highlighted recently - and pick #27 in this year's draft is probably worth pick #50 in any other draft, so no, I am not enthused.

What I am able to do is reconcile myself to the fact that we've already landed the fish we wanted to catch - Crouch & Brown. Everything I've read & seen indicates that Crouch will be that genuine gun we've been missing (recruitment-wise) for the last decade. I don't know as much about Brown, but by all indications he's as good as anything that would have been available at pick #10 in the draft, so "nothing ventured nothing gained".

If both of these players work out, then I will be satisfied that the year's drafting (and trading) was a success, regardless of the inevitable failure of this year's draft crop.

All you blokes are picking south aussies exclusively...you do realise Matt Rendell is in charge, right? :p
Some people never learn, despite the obvious lessons contained in our recent drafting history. They make the same mistakes every year.. ;)

Not to mention Big H is 2IC, both love their TAC boys.

Wall-e already made a thread for each pick. They're locked until the draft.

There lower down in the adelaide board http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=892152, hasn't been opened yet.

Thanks for noticing :)

Emma Quayle has said we are interested in Jimmy Webster at #27. Who is this?

Refer to my 2011 draft preview. I've put him in 2nd round with a chance we go at 27. He's a silky outside mid from tassie. Lovely skills.

I think you are being a little pessimistic. Didn't someone recently post some stats that showed basically that after pick 5 it was just a lottery as to whether the player picked would survive in the AFL. Certainly the chances reduced as the picks went later but the curve pretty well flattened out after pick 20. That being the case I would expect that, just as in previous years, one of our four picks to be around in four years time. Anything more is a bonus.

I think im with you on this one hdecure.
Murdoch-Forster-McKenzie either one really good players. Even Kerridge seems fine.

You never know if GC or Carlt rate just one boy higher thatn Murdoch at their picks he could slip to 27.

I wonder in what order Matt Rendell would have those 4?
If Murdoch/Forster/McKenzie and Kerridge all were available at 27 who would they take, tough choice?

I really hope we end up with a few SA boys.
