Id be interested to hear what your thoughts are on Byron sumner from sydney. Their website lists him as a small forward but iirc he played as a back pocket in a match or two for them this year. Doesnt seem to enjoy sydney. He osunds pretty quick and skilfull

How was the "get out of my way" on his team mate.

Great disposal, good tackler.
Moves a bit like Trent Cotchin, I think.

If that is a true indication of what he plays like, I'd put a fair bit on the table.
Perhaps even Zac, as much as it would hurt. Keep Griffen, pick up another ruck this year and take Moller in next year...

Certainly a strong aspect of contested footy about him, but quality work on the outside.

He looked like a young Voss to me (although maybe it was just that handball).

Yeah, a bit of that too.
That was a 30m handball. The guy looks like a jet and is still underaged.

When you compare that to what you saw with say, Rich, at that age there seems a lot more to like.
Great hands, great by foot, contested footy, but a lot of work without the ball

I would like to give Tyler Chalwell a shot on the rookie list. Seems to have had a fairly consistent season with East Freo reserves. A young, athletic KPD is also exactly what we need.
Chalwell was named best player for the South in the all stars game played after the colts GF.
Took a lot of contested marks and used the ball well from defence.

How much can you glean from a highlights clip, really, but everything about those bits of play scream 'leader'. Just asserts himself in close and in space. I'm thinking Voss/Hodge type, maybe with bigger upside than Hodge (more pace).

You'd kill to get him.

Yeah true. But all comments heard on this lad scream the same.

4 goals on debut against men? I'll have some more of that...seriously

I got the same funny feeling I did when watching the Barlow highlights clip. Remember the arseclowns that asked for the 'lowlights' clip?

I reckon you can actually tell a lot from a few seconds of play. How the player moves across the ground to win the ball says a fair bit.

You'd hope so given its a highlights video

It's the precision of the passing which is most impressive...A few of them weighted across the ground to hit a running player on the chest.
Nice hands in traffic and knows how to get the hands free and still put it to advantage.

Could do worse than picking up Garlett or Taylor. Guess it depends on how cheap picks 2 and 3 will be.

Also, if we miss out on O'Meara you could also make the argument to forget the others and throw everything at getting Jack Martin next year.

my thinking is that if we do get a pick in the mini draft we should get a tall forward as in Mason Shaw, then this trade period we trade our first pick, number 16, to the lions for mitch clark, then with our picks in the draft this year we can stock up on ball winning midfielders, like a clay smith or shane nelson. if we dont trade pick 16 for mitch clark i would love to get taylor adams, absolute beauty of a clearance winning mid

That deal would have GWS salivating , you'd reckon.
A young ruck (super quality potential) that can be the number 1 ruck straight away & is of similar age to the likes of scully , ward etc etc.

I cant believe people are quick to give up Zac. He has been a work in progress since he came to the club. Results were starting to show this year and now you want to get rid of him for JOM.

WOW

JOM is a quality young player, no doubt about that... but do we want to give up a guy who is going to take over from Sandi in a few years just to get another midfielder who cant play till 2013.

Knowing our luck it may be one of those moments where we put everything on the table and get him, just to see it all fall to pieces... But geez it would be nice to get him.

Look at this way. Are we going to be stronger with sandi , griffo , Clarke and m. Clark.

Or sandi , griffo , m.Clark , moller(2013) and O'meara (2013)

IMO we will be miles better off with ^^^^.
