Has anyone else had a chance to look at the new fixture? There's a link to a club by club breakdown here: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/104700/default.aspx and the pdf document can be found here: http://www.afl.com.au/portals/0/afl_docs/fixture_document.pdf

The most obvious one is that we play collingwood at ANZ again :) Really not happy about only having 7 SCG games again but there's not much we can do.

And we have some big and surprising news, we have a Friday night game  against Carltank at the SCG in round 6. That will come to about 8 years I think since we had our last game on Friday.

Here's who we play round by round, couldn't be bothered throwing in the stadiums :)

Round 1: Melbourne - MCG
Round 2: Essendon - ANZ
Round 3: West Coast - Subi
Round 4: Geelong - SCG
Round 5: Bye
Round 6: Carlton - SCG
Round 7: Western Bulldogs -Manuka
Round 8: Port Adelaide - SCG
Round 9: Hawthorn - SCG
Round 10: North Melbourne - Etihad
Round 11: Brisbane - Gabba
Round 12: Richmond - SCG
Round 13: Carlton - Etihad
Round 14: Collingwood - ANZ
Round 15: Adelaide - AAMI
Round 16: Gold Coast - Goald Coast Stadium
Round 17: Fremantle - SCG
Round 18: Western Bulldogs - SCG
Round 19: Bye
Round 20: Essendon - Etihad
Round 21: Richmond - MCG
Round 22: St. Kilda - ANZ
Round 23: Geelong - Skilled
Round 24: Brisbane - SCG

The only teams we play twice are Essendon, Geelong, Carlton, Western Bulldogs, Brisbane and Richmond.

All in all I’m pretty pleased with the draw we could have done a lot worse. Bring on next year

Edit: Decided to throw in the stadiums as well, my mistake it looks like we have 8 games at the SCG, three games in a month there from rounds 6-9 isn't bad either.

Reasonably happy with the draw overall. A bit disappointed though that I'll only get to see my Swannies play live once next year, when they come over to Adelaide in Round 15 to play the Crows. I was also hoping for a game in Melbourne on the weekend of the 15th to 17th of July, because that's when I've got a holiday booked there to coincide with the 3 week break between Uni semesters; but sadly it wasn't to be.

6 games in Victoria:thumbsu:
round 1 too :thumbsu:, rapt we play the Dons twice as all my mates barrack for them....but yer Bedford playing the Cats twice is a pain in the a**e, but no Ablett, no ANZ for the first match.....other than that playing west coast at Patersons Stadium aka Subiaco :D and yet again we play the Brissy Lions in the last Round

Its bullshit that we have to play at Geelong again, every f-king year
but it's not as bad as Freo having to play us in Sydney again (9 times in the past 11 seasons). The swings and roundabouts of a compromised draw.

Essendon, Collingwood and St.Kilda at ANZ. At least we don't have to play the 3 best teams of the year out at that shithole this year.

Pumped for a Friday night game. Carlton will pull a lot of their fans up here and the novelty of a Friday night game will have a very good crowd turn out for it just like what happened with the Saturday arvo games up here the last 2 years.

8 games at SCG is less that what I want but under the circumstances and the contract with ANZ, that is a pretty good result. We're playing some pretty good sides there too in Carlton, Hawthorn, Freo, Bulldogs, Geelong and our great advantage of knowing the ground better than anyone could help us pick up some very important wins against those top 8 sides.

Typically, Collingwood have their first 14 games in Melbourne. They could make their stranglehold over the AFL subtle if they wanted to.

Disappointed we don't play the dogs in Melbourne, but at least there are a couple of others I can go see.

It not so much having to play Geelong, its the lack of tickets for visiting members and the cost of a seat down there. With our drawing power in Melbourne the game should be at the docklands.

Looking forward to round 3 at Subi and spending the next 21 rounds rubbing it in West Coast faces! No Freo game here is a disappointment, but overall I think our draw isn't too bad. Friday night game is also exciting

It could have been worse. Collingwood, St Kilda, Hawthorn and Freo all only once. Being undefeated going into our first bye week is very realistic. The first 16 rounds are really quite easy, with the exception of Collingwood. 12-13 wins by round 16 isn't beyond the realm of possibility. If we're consistent, don't get over injured, and beat the teams we should beat, I'm confident about a top 4 finish.

Hopefully :) Without Ablett I can see us being a lot more competitive against Geelong, he always seems to have BOG performances against us. If Nick Smith is fit as well we'll have a good chance of winning.

Yeah, while I don't consider the Cats easybeats, I'm not scared of us playing them like I was before. We should be confident playing them at the SCG.

Quite happy with the draw, but for the Friday night game will it be shown live on FTA or at the usual 3 hour delay? (In Sydney)

Most of us agree we have a relatively easy draw. Well according to one measure we have precisely the 3rd easiest draw:

Ranking total of 2011 opponents by opponents 2010 H&A ladder position (16th = 16 points, 1st = 1 point)

214 - Western Bulldogs
214 - Melbourne
204 - Sydney
203 - Brisbane Lions
203 - Adelaide
199 - Richmond
199 - Port Adelaide
199 - Fremantle
198 - Collingwood
197 - Hawthorn
195 - Geelong
195 - Carlton
194 - West Coast
192 - North Melbourne
188 - Essendon
187 - St Kilda
185 - Gold Coast

That's stolen from the main forum. And GC has another reason to be wooden spoon favourites.

I am really surprised that we had 2 Friday night games. Does anyone know the last time we had a Friday night game that wasn't a final?
We only have one Friday night game.

Last regular season Friday night game was Anzac Day 2003, where we kicked 10 goals in the last quarter to beat Melbourne by 4 goals.

"Adam Goodes was sensational.....he could win a brownlow one day.....he is a bit of an eye catcher isn't he"

"You cannot use Michael O'laughlin as a key forward"

Some commentator quotes I thought were amusing :)
