Just talk about players your thinking of picking up or just discuss the player for season 2011.

Chad Cornes anyone?

In a word NO. Not as good a fantasy player as he was back to 2009. Not sure if he is in the Power's best 22 anymore either. Seems to have been overtaken by Chaplin at CHB, Trengrove and Paul Stewart have got the other tall back pocket/ flank positions

Guess he could play forward because he is a very flexible player but again where does he fit and do you want to drop a young talent like Daniel Stewart for him

Risky choice because chances are he wont come cheap

We haven't seen Chad at his best in 3 years. Sadly he's been smashed by injury over that time.

Priced at roughly $415k, it might be worth having a crack if his pre-season reports continue the way they have been. But the fact that he isn't getting any younger certainly goes against him.

Def a no to Chad, what about jurrah? He can turn a game on, With Melbourne a big chance for the 8 this year i will have a think about him

Goes missing too easily, like most KPFs. The only KPFs I'm going to consider to start with are Riewoldt for obvious reasons and Brown if he comes out around $400k. Pavlich and Franklin are upgrade targets as they'll fluctuate through the year.

True but he will eventually one of those players who could either score 130+ or <50 depending on the day he is having.

My forward line will most likely have Riewoldt (Nick), Didak/Thomas (whoever has the better preseason) & maybe a Brown or ROK thrown in there as well.

OK I know he burnt a lot of people last year but what do people think about Tippett for next year. Should improve now that Adelaide has a dedicated kicking coach (who will probably be spending most of his time with Tip) & Adelaide's forwardline/midfield depth will be greater to (hopefully) fully fit Vince, Porplyzia & Knights running around.

Vince will be pretty cheap, up prob pick him up, tippet had some big games near the end of the year, he could be a great pick up, I will be waiting for the nab cup before I thought about him

Pods is an interesting choice. I haven't really though about him until now. But I guess there's no reason why he shouldn't continue the form he showed this year, especially with another AFL preseason.

Cyril Rioli? I'm really keen on him, thoughts?

Geelong don't play a lot of early games at Skilled so I will consider picking up Pods later in the season. Plus if I'm starting with anyone from Geelong it's Selwood or Bartel.

Rioli is a jet should combine it all eventually for a 100+ average season. He burnt a lot of people early on but ended up quite cheap before pulling it together mid year when Hawthorn did. He is a key to their success in 2011, monitor his preseason if he doesn't have any hamstring or OP (like was rumoured this year) then jump on.

The player I'm keen on is Higgins was the bargin of 2009, burnt me & a lot of others last season. Can he turn it around in 2011?

Pretty keen on Colin Sylvia for 2011.

Will surely be a gun in a Melbourne side gunning for the 8! :thumbsu:

Not touching Vince or Tippett after this year. :o

Going pure guns-rookies next year, with the occasional exception for good players getting discounts for missing last year (Otten, Petrie).

Higgins is made out of Balsa wood. A big no from me about him. I thought he'd really go on with it last year but even when he was on the park he was disappointing more often than not.

Andreis Everitt...any chance of a big year in the Swan backline?

Big YES from me!!

Sydneys prior record with players from other clubs is very good and Everitt i think will get 22 games barring injury and will be on the cheap side for that 300k defender to fill a hole where another rookie and/or high $$$ option is not available. I will be looking at him very hard for next year and watching the NAB Cup closely.

What do people think of Brock McLean this year?????

Was injury ravaged last season and his price will be very low after last year and could be a bargain and is a monty to play 22 games if injury free and could easily score 90+ weekly.

Everitt is getting some pretty good mentions and will more-than-likely play most games barring injury. As for a 'breakout' year, i'm not too sure. He'll be sharing his points with the likes of Bolton, Grundy, LRT, Malceski, Kennelly et el... I'm going to wait and see what his price is like. I'm sure he'll be a good pick up, as for a great/fantastic/outstanding/sensational pick up I'm not too sure, but certainly worth a look IMO. For me it's all based around his starting price atm.

As for players to look out for from Sydney, I'm looking very closely at the likes of: Jack (points), Hanners (points), TDL ($$), Mummy (points), Bird ($$), ROK ($$ & points), Seaby ($$), Kennedy (points), McGlynn (points).

Personally I'm going complete guns/rookies (less a few more-undervaled players such as Otten, RoK, Brown etc).

ROK, Kennedy, Mumford & McGlynn are all on my radar for next year.

Some news about Harbrow from the HS today, possible move to the midfield

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...r-of-scray-spray/story-e6frf9jf-1225957415845

"I had a crack in the bone and scar tissue," Harbrow said.

He is hopeful of being in full training with the Suns in two to three weeks, with the aim of pushing for a place in the team's midfield.

"I'd really like to get into the midfield," Harbrow said

Harbrow is priced at 432k in the fanplanner so not necessarily a bargain pick up even with a move to the midfield. :thumbsu:

Will be named as a defender, move to the midfield could lift his average to over 100. Probably won't make it into my side but it's a thought worth considering.

ROFL at todays herald sun article saying gaff will be a "bargain" :D

a kid who has hasnt played against men and close to if not 200k according to m0nty

although if they do the right thing and keep prices how they are he could be a bargain

but if not yep steal of the century :rolleyes:

Got no problem with forking out $197k for him. Ill be picking him up if his pre-season form continues the way its going. :thumbsu:

no way would he be "worth" 197k i would much rather pay the extra 5k or watever  and get swallow who has played in the vfl

im not by any means saying gaff wont be "worth" the money

my point is 197k is wayyyyyyy to expensive thats all

"worth" all comes down to a question of improving though.

$197k is pricing said player at an average of 37, rather than the "rookie price" of 18.

So when working out who is worth more, you need to consider this 20 point difference when selecting your rookies. If you believe that Gaff will average 20 more than a 2nd rounder- then yes, he's a bargain. If not though, then no harm done.

What I do know, is that if Gaff was priced at $100k, he would be in 100% of teams. Priced at $190k however, will see him removed as an automatic selection- increasing the diversity of teams.
