Anyone planning on hitting the trade button early this year? Anyone with Jonathan Brown will certainly be looking at it, as will people that missed a LOT of the required rookies.

I'd like to bring Curnow in but I think it's too much of a sideways trade given all my rookies scored 70+.

I just hope most of Stanley, Toy, Harris, Swallow, Matera & Prestia get games or my gamble on GC players may have failed.

Re: 2011 Tradewatch

Anybody with Brown. There'd be a few who have Le Cras, as well.

It depends who you're looking to replace him with. Most of the likely candidates didn't score well this week so will drop in price come Round 3, so it might be worth storing him on the bench for a couple of weeks. At least that's what I'm tossing up.

Out of those I looked at to replace him, Didak and Harvey are going to drop in price after weeks 3 and 4 (bye in week 3) respectively, pretty much everyone else has bye week issues in my team, or I can take a punt on J. Riewoldt.

Re: Round 2 trades

What about J Selwood? Probably out next week and after he plays his 3 games he is sure to drop in price dramatically.

You'll make some cash but you'd be using two trades to make it, since I'd assume you'd want Selwood in your team at the end. Fair bit of difference between one week off and eight.

Yes I will probably stick with him as a lock but Geelong also have a bye in round 2 of the finals so some people might choose to offload him 20 weeks early. Plenty of other premiums could be brought in early and you could keep money in the bank for an easy upgrade later on. But personally I'm going to try ride it out and not use any trades these opening rounds.

Re: Round 2 trades

You wouldn't trade after round one unless you got a player who has a serious injury like J.Brown, would you?

Those who would (and there are many) are the reason why DT / SC teams are virtually identical at the start of the season, and completely unrecognisable at the end.

Re: Round 2 trades

I have Easton Wood so there will be one change.

Have $192.7k left over so may upgrade him, but would prefer to keep some cash available for Lake as an upgrade target after round 5 or 6 (expecting a dip when he comes back from injury).

Re: Round 2 trades

Not in Round 2. Surely waiting the extra week (extended bench helps as does the 1 or 2 GC rookies probably there as well to come in) and maybe finding out who is likely to give you the 100+ average you want come round 3 onwards as the prices move.

Or if you missed out on one of the must have rookies (Curnow) you may want to free up loads of cash for someone who, early on, is giving same points and then trade a mid range to a keeper?? Two trades but possibly better of long term?

I have Selwood but he was my lock from day one so hard to give up at this stage....fair amount of cash sitting on the pine though and I am pi$$ed he was my capt. this round. But likely to keep him as everyone else should get a game again in my midfield and 2 GC sitting on the bench.

Too early to trade for that and my luck will trade into another injury.

Re: Round 2 trades

Wouldn't think its too bright of an idea to pick up Curnow this week, or anyone else for that matter (unless of course you have a long term injury). Atleast wait until after Round 2 where you will have a better idea of his job security.

Surely those who have Yarran will see an increase in his score this week with Carlton playing the GC.

Re: Round 2 trades

Any actual word from Geelong as to how long Selwood will be out yet?

Don't want to pull the trigger but if it's going to be 2 weeks as opposed to one it's a different prospect considering the round 6 bye and the one in the finals.

Re: Round 2 trades

Trading out C.Bruce for N.Lower is a possibilty, but like most have stated, would probably be Round 3 trade.

Re: Round 2 trades

Still think there's a touch of the Mitch Robinson's with Curnow (kicks off with a bang only to fall into the "just a squad player" realm)....nowhere near ready to call him the next Barlow.

Re: Round 2 trades

I don't know anything about Supercoach. I scored 2229, without having even heard of some of the players I picked.

Some of the rookies I have are highly rated but didn't play this week (Mzunga etc.). Should I trade them for a Curnow, or Heppel? (I removed the last guy at the last minute...). They could easily find a spot on my main team, as I've got a few spuds like Scott Selwood etc.

What's the maximum number of trades you can make a round? It appears you can 'save' trades; is that right?

Cheers!

Re: Round 2 trades

Yeah mate, 2 trades per round, with 24 trades for the year. But it's important to have a few trades up your sleeve incase of injuries late in the season. ;)

Two trades per week, twenty-four for the year. I'd probably suggest trading out Mzungu as he's injured and will be out for a couple of months but yes, it's possible to fix up your team pretty rapidly.

It's only fan speculation that he's out this week at the moment. Definitely wait until later in the week when the club puts out its injury list.

Re: Round 2 trades

Anyone trading Selwood is mad. He's a lock for the rest of the year, so his price doesn't amtter at all.

Agreed, considering 99% of people have Swallow and Harris on the bench you should be covering him with them.

No trades for me at the moment, maybe look at dumping Astbury next week, or Smith -> Prestia if he doesn't get a game soon.

Re: Round 2 trades

i'm half tempted to say puck it and bring Tapscott in for Gamble. Tapscott will be a lock for the rest of the year in the Dees side and was awesome over the weekend. i will hold off though. I would also love to do a straight swap Hibberd for Curnow... i won't though

Re: Round 2 trades

Will wait til after this week before I do any trades. But im looking at Curnow and also Liberatore to bring in before they go up in cash at the expense of Atley and Gaff probably who didnt look as good over the weekend. :thumbsu:

Re: Round 2 trades

Considering dropping Walker for Dangerfield... The problem is Adelaide have a bye next week so I wont get to see their scored again before price changes...

Same have Easton Wood, will wait for clarification on injury.

With league byes in R4,5,6 might consider keeping him, as I have good coverage with Lower,Otten,Duigan,Stanley.

Watched a fair bit of the game & Wood looked far from impressive anyway.

Which Walker ??? Andrew or Taylor ??? If it is Andrew then your in a win/win position as he will hopefully get a price boost after rd 3 then you can trade him to Dangerfield before his price goes up too !!!!!!!!

The Bye will mean you can get x2 bites at the increased price cherry.

Re: Round 2 trades

Thinking of going Goodes to O'keefe, had to choose one of them and from all reports O'Keefe was transitioning into a defensive tagger... Guess reports were wrong.

Otherwise just waiting a week for those cash cows see which ones can score back to back 100's. Might trade them in.
