It's not the end of the world or anything, but Channel 9's broadcast is so tacky. Stale commentators, shithouse graphics (wtf is with the blue tinge?), ridiculous/pointless gimmicks that distract from the game (do we really need a digital namebadge for Ponting, Hussey and Clarke standing in the slips?). I love overseas series, particularly in South Africa and England because they just make the broadcast a lot nicer with clean graphics, discussing the game rather than talking about a test match in 1963 whilst the bowler is bowling. Plus ads after every over drives a person used to foxtel insane.

It's all about pandering to the lowest common denominator.

The English Sky coverage is the best, they don't go overboard with the gimmicks and the commentators are much better.

Nine's coverage is on FTA though so you can't complain too much, most other countries you can only watch cricket on pay tv now.

Also annoying that taylor stated he really hadn't seen much of peterson at test level, surely a professional commentator should have watched the top 2 teams in the world in the winter and he would have seen that peterson is a underrated bat.

as soon as Tubbs pulled up that digital display you knew he was going to balls it up. Pretty damn funny. Was like watching those monkeys from Space Odyssey.

Apparently for it to be given out LBW the initial impact has to be with the leg and it has to be going on to hit the stumps! Genius!

Agreed with above, the coverage by Sky UK and SportSport South Africa are sublime. Honourable mention to ESPN West Indies and SkyNZ. Australia and anywhere in the subcontinent are a disgrace.
