After last night's game I'm giving up trying to predict who is staying and who is leaving. Maybe, just maybe time will tell we weren't missing 13 of our best 22. Taylor Hine is improving with every game (still needs to keep working on his disposal), Rat Magin etc. I'm glad it's Bluey, Clayton and Co making these decisions not me. Flanagan did a couple of nice things too - he can kick a football, and Josh Toy's tackle created the turnover that lead to our last goal, I will be surprised if I'm not surprised when some of the de-listees are named.

Thus why I think the smartest thing to do is trade instead of delisting. Even if they are in your preferred 22 you still have a heap of kids that are good enough , and if you are smart you can then convert some to a slightly younger age , in areas that are currently weak.

Seems Caddy is excited about the Arizona trip, promising signs he will stay. Also on the same page of paper it mentions Coad talking about how he is enjoying being back in the seniors but also expecting to be delisted come a couple of weeks.

If Caddy says he is excited about the Arizona trip, then that means he will definitely be staying. We do that trip after the trade week/draft period.

Where did you hear this? In the bully?

Also to note, Campbell Brown on the Sunday Footy Show thought Caddy was a 50/50 prospect mid-year, but is now much more confident he'll stay. Girlfriend settled, etc etc.

That win against Carlton has no doubt helped us immeasurably.

Also apparently Caddy has been playing with a shoulder injury since a few weeks ago. That is also no doubt a reason for his severe drop-off in touches. Kudos to him for sticking it out, when he could have opted to be put on ice.

Just got the Bulletin myself to have a look. Sure enough, there's an article there saying that Caddy has given his biggest indication that he's going to say. Campbell Brown was saying that Caddy was speaking to the group, saying how much he was not looking forward to Arizona this year. This is what made Browny far more confident. Fingers crossed. :D

Here's a little snippet. Go read the paper if you want the full article!

Can be taken as misleading! He doesn't like it, he's goooooone. Or there's Brownys perspective ;)

If you will ask any of the players, the part of pre-season that they're most not looking forward to is Arizona. I don't know any that IS looking forward to it. ;) Especially since it will be even harder this year.

The fact he's even talking about AZ is, hopefully, a good sign.

I think they would prefer to be in Arizona than running laps at Cararra in the summer sun for pre season. Its a good bonding opportunity for the club and also offers a great fitness base in a different/unique environment.

Players and other ive spoken with generally look forward to the trip. Often get a few days off in nearby Vegas also.

I hope we don't cut Coad as i was super impressed with him on the weekend.

Yeah Coad is a bit old and Warnock and Bock would be a better combo IMO.

Just watching the replay now, and taking a good look at Coad.

While he doesn't have good speed, and probably hits max speed in two steps, his read of the play is phenomenal. Granted, the Blues weren't exactly kicking it into 50 very well, but by the time the ball was starting to drop onto the head of a Carlton player, Coad had not only peeled off his man, but he was there ready to double-team the Carlton player. This obviously makes up for his lack of speed. Just his anticipation and read of the play is probably some of the best I've ever seen from any player at the Suns.

I'm sure Matty Warnock also appreciates a bigger body to help him out too. :D

has a piercing kick as well

True. Some of his kick outs were 55m passes lace out. One in particular hit Shaw floating back a little. Insane kick. Weighted just above the Carlton player and into Shawry.

Another kick-in he went a little into the square.

If he can have another day like that this week, it wouldn't surprise me to see him extended.

Assuming Horsley will be promoted if he has signed a 2 year deal, also congrats to Liam Patrick.

This means even more pressure on the other fringe players now.

he just seemed like the answer we needed in the kick outs. he was happy to take them and we moved the ball from there really well

O'Meara and the Horse 2 locks for the senior list, Welcome!

With about 10 delistings of non progressive players, our list will seriously step up next season! Hope we utilise the rookie list a bit more to cover injuries/depth. Cheap and disposable.

I support the Patrick re signing but am suprised its 2 years and not a 1 year extension.

I realize Patrick was in the calculations of some, so perhaps an update is needed.

Senior players to go:
Fraser
Krakouer
Iles

Young players to go:
Moss
Jolly
Toy
Flanagan
Nicholls

Unfortunately I can see one of Iles or Stanley going, and with Bull Stanley really stepping up in the past few games, you think it won't be him. I really rate Iles, but he's clearly not in the long term plans right now.

So we get in O'Meara & Horsley, as well as two others along the way and we should be good to go.

There are also some murmurings around that Rischitelli could be headed away down south. Not sure about the truth in that, but I guess we shall see come trade time.
