NRL 2012 Melbourne Storm Thread

It's a show hosted by Eddie McGuire on the Fox Footy channel. Mel was just saying how it's good that the show is having guests from a rival code.

I understood that much.

$20 down the gurgler.
Gee we are playing amazing football. Our attack is astonishing and our set plays are almost flawless.
In our 15 years in the comp, I have never seen us play better than what we have in the first 6 games.
Putting 42 ont he Cowboys at Dairy Farmers is no mean feat.

I'm glad we were wrong and btw never ever bet against your own team.

To say I was impressed is an undestatement, Ryles and Vave were awesome. Cronk's been playing out of his skin this year and he's on track to win the Daly M if his form keeps up.

We have got to lose a game soon and I hope its next year;)

Ryles was very ggood.
We will smash the Dogs next week and then lose our annual away game on Anzac Day against the Worriers at AAMI.

Well, quite. If it's not a packed house for the next home game after that display at Dairy Farmers...

It won't be vs the Bulldogs, but a sure bet the following round vs the Warriors.

Melbourne's rather a quaint city, generally just following afl;)
You have to live here to understand.

Can't help but think now would be a great time for the club to start targeting Richmond/Melbourne supporters with something along the lines of "Footy team not looking good for 2012? Come and taste success with the Storm at AAMI Park".

Much lulz :)

Huh? Why Richmond? Most anticipated being 1-4 after 5
Most anticipate a 1-4 start for Richmond every year. Richmond's prospects never improve.

Can only assume who you barrack for based on name is same team as the previous genius.

I'll take less than a 4 goal loss to Collingwood than struggling to beat Port Adelaide in Melbourne....

You'd take a loss over a win?

Yep, definite Richmond supporter*.

* joke also works for Melbourne supporters.

Let's be honest. They were extremely lucky against North & struggled to beat a shit team. Bar a couple of lapses we have been decent.

Richmonds started better than the Scummers if one looks beyond the result.

Anyway, this is massive hijacking of a thread lol

We don't get our arses kicked off our home by a bowls club either.

I LoLed.

Anyway, Storm by 16-20.
He started it.:)
I have a feeling the Dogs could cause an upset. Paying $3.85 for the win too. Looking forward to the game and seeing how Barba performs against his opposite number.

Hopefully there's a good contingent of RIchmond and Melbourne supporters at the game tomorrow night.
Reckon with the Indian summer we are having, 45,000 is not out of the question at the MCG. Would like to think there will be 2000 that make their way over to AAMI.
I am bringing 3 complete newbies to the game of RL tomorrow. Hope they enjoy it.

I hope they do too. It's been interesting at work hearing people actually talk about Rugby league. I think we're already seeing the benefit of the live and delayed games if only in a small way.

Two of my guests just want to see the 'new' stadium (yes, two and a half years after the official opening) and up until last night, thought they were going to see Melbourne Victory.:o (both female)
The other one still calls it 'rugby' despite my insistence of the use of 'league' (male).
Let's hope we can at least get them back for a few more bites.

Hehe.

You'll never knock the "rugby" comment out of them. I just run with it now.
